That is a MUCH better track for us. Sorry for the guys wanting rain and the ranchers. If we got what they were predicting many many farmers would be bankrupt this year.

Is that far enough north to get pushed into Texas by the upper level winds/jet stream?

Not a Metx, and haven't had time to really look at the steering mechanisms. The last I saw high pressure was parked over Mexico so I'm surprised at these models.
Check out the highly overmoderated boards at storm2k.org. A bunch of those guys are knowledgeable.
I'm not sure if the moisture wad will turn toward Texas, or if the disturbances heading our way will be feeding off the tropical moisture pushing our way.
Either way most projections call for a few inches of rain for most of us the next few days.

Model guidance in in strong agreement on track into Mexico well south of Texas. May see some of that moisture work it's way north but odds of a TX landfall are essentially non existent.

I know the storm won't hit us but was really wondering about the lingering moisture as it hits Mexico inland. If I recall, some of the storms that hit will get pushed up and north on land bringing rain into Texas.... that's what I was really looking for.

Don't let logic enter into this Seven....we always need rain, don't you know? Even if you've had rain every single day for the last month and are losing money because of the rain...you still need more!

Those of us with 2 inch cracks in the ground and lake levels under 50% could sure use it.

And you can have all of it you want.

Those of us that are losing money and production because we have had rain on a constant basis - near daily - for the last several months don't want anymore. There are other industries out there besides farmers, and I don't give a single iota if your yard is in need of it.

2" on Friday in less than an hour. 1" on Saturday in just over an hour. Both times I was in the middle of a concrete pour. Both times I had to shut production down. Both times it cost me a lot of money and cost me production. About to shut down again because we have a line about to come over us, and that is after we got about a quarter inch right off the bat this morning.

And that's just the last 3 days. The last month has not been fun. The last 6 months has been absolutely brutal on my production and ability to maintain schedule. A few weeks ago we got 8" of rain over a 3 day span, then had the luxury of almost 3 days of no rain, then got another 1" rain...it's been like that on a near repeatable basis. So yeah, I don't care if it goes 3 or 4 solid months at this point with no rain. In fact, it would make me happy for it to do exactly that.

I have to agree with this. I get that farmers hurt, but there are a lot more industries that get kicked in the nuts with near daily rain - and they don't have insurance to help offset loss.

I am in construction as well. Sometimes projects build themselves and you make a bunch of money, sometimes the weather or other issues out of your control happen - for extended periods of time even. Customers/Owners never understand/care why a project isn't ticking along. I get it, it sucks, but this is the nature of construction. You can't control the weather. Period. *****ing about it is not going to make your production improve. Take it in stride and move on.

Or as you will probably be told, "crash your schedule and make it happen."

I know how you feel.

Quote:

Conditions in the tropical Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea indicate 2017 could be an "extremely active season" for tropical storms and hurricanes, said NOAA on Wednesday.
The agency now says there is a 60 percent chance of an above-normal season, up from NOAA's May prediction of 45 percent, and 14-19 named storms, raised from the May forecast range of 11-17, and a slight increase of two to five major hurricanes.
"We are seeing signs this could be the most active season since 2010," said Gerry Bell, lead seasonal hurricane forecaster at NOAA's Climate Prediction Center, on a call with reporters on Wednesday.

Guess the same could be said for those pining for the farmers then - can't control the weather, so quit *****ing about it and just cash in your insurance. *****ing about no rain isn't going to make your crops or yard or cows any better.
