Wasn't sure when the policy changed but Academy no longer price matches everyone. Only certain other stores and sites.

I went in today to buy a m&p shield and was informed they wouldn't match Palmetto State Armory. I was pretty disappointed as the wife finally gave clearance and I wasn't able to pick it up immediately.

sounds like someone needs to get their house in order.

I thought it was only brick and mortar stores?

I have no problem with a store not price matching an online only/ almost all online business.

Buy from PSA and save the sales tax. Find someone to do the transfer for less than $20.

They just price matched and beat it by several more percent on top of that for a bilge pump wear Walmart was selling like $10 cheaper.

They then told me about their deal on guns and price matching. And how you can, if you find a good deal, get the price match plus more percent of discount!

Makes sense they wouldn't do online stores...

He bought a whole box of M&P's but they just charged him for one.

PSA has a couple stores in SC so theoretically they should match.

When I asked them if they would price match A.C.K. on an Old Town Vapor, they gave me the run around about it being an internet only deal, I showed them that A.C.K. has 5 store fronts in Texas and that the exact same boat could be purchased for said price. Then they gave me a little more grief and said they didnt know if they could match that price, so I said I would go buy my boat at A.C.K. and magically they matched the price, then knocked off an extra 5 percent. They can and will price match if you call them on their b.s.

I've probably bought 20-25 guns in 15 years of marriage and haven't asked permission to buy a single one of them. You've got a long way to go before you're "winning the wife game"

Buddy of mine had them match the $499 deal on the Ruger AR556 a few months back. The manager relucatantly matched that price but said he was changing their policy to match only "local prices". Sure enough I tried to have them match an online deal a few days later at another Houston area store and they said they were all changing their policies.

Hmmm.....I've never seen them match anything from a non local online place. How could they? I have bought more than one from them where I ended up picking the gun I liked and ordering online for reasons that make the final cost cheaper. Not as convenient but still. Sometimes it was close enoigh that I didn't care. Compare academy to other local places and you should find their prices are almost unbeatable outside of sales or promos. That's been my experience.

Local academy matched buds gun shop for me this past Christmas. I think it all depends on the store and whoever is making the decisions there at the time. It's worth a shot to try another store or even go back to yours at a different time.

I had Academy gift cards so I wanted to see if they would price match Grabagun in Coppell. They did and offered another 5% off. It was easy. This was in the Grapevine store and grabagun has a storefront in Coppell about 8 miles from there.

Do you even TexAgs bro? You can make that link short and tidy with just a little bit of effort.

Buy from a local small business. Say your welcome when they thank you kindly for your business. Do your community a favor. Maybe u might find a price match that way? Seems like it would be difficult for anybody to price match PSA at this point.

Either way, Academy sucks. And.....i bet they dont thank you for your business.
