Solid input but I haven't ever bought one, I've had 4, all gifted. I have 2 left, one was jacked out of my truck bed and the other some how mysteriously disappeared during the summer after sophomore year

That being said, I'll have to pay more attention to the pipeliners on my projects, particularly the welders. I would bet there are some creative solutions out there, but I think most folks remove the back seat, limo tint the rears, and keep their coolers there.

If they're anything like the welders I've worked with it'll be a whipcheck looped onto itself through the padeye in the bed

With a "cut proof" lock

locked to a a yeti bracket or similar bracket that secures the lock to your cooler

This is the combo I use and I've never had any trouble

I just put mine on the back seat. Is it really this complicated?
That will not secure the cooler from anyone holding something hard enough to break a window. In fact, it is that sort of behavior that invite break ins.

You can do this for about $5-6 plus the cost of your lock of choice. Get plastic coated wire rope thin enough to allow cooler to close and seal when its in the gap below the cooler lid. Make loops to the size of your liking, swage loops, and lock loops to bed tie down after feeding through the gap. Might have to strip a little of the plastic coating to get wire rope in ferrule. Also might have to take a sledge to flatten the ferrules after swaging so they can slip through the gap on the cooler base. If someone has bolt cutters then its over, but I'm not on a job site and my cooler doesn't live back there. Just keeps the dip****s honest. Allows me take my time on the Buccee's ****ter on my way to the lease or get some boudin on my way to the in-laws in LA.

I use this for the kayak, ice chest, and rod case when going to see the MIL in LA or vacation in FL.

It's not the people on the job site that I'm worried about. It's the riff raff in the parking lot of the $35 a night motel we live in. Go to work at 5:30 am and return at 6:30 pm, you never want to have to lug a cooler out of your bed into the hotel or into the truck.

I park right under the camera and next to the front entrance so I don't think anyone would take their time getting after it. But like you were saying I'm just trying to keep the dum dumb from just grabbing and running like they did with my tool box the one night I left it back there in the open.
