My family and I are heading back to BCS in late May and are looking for a home to rent. Looking for a 3 br in a good elementary school zone. Compared to places like Houston and Dallas, any elementary school in B/CS is going to be good. I'd say pick a place based on proximity to work/friends/family and don't worry too much about the school zone.

Just my opinion.

Seen a few for rent signs up on Pronghorn Loop. Located just off of wellborn road and also within a mile of Rock Prairie elementary.

Parents have a townhouse available at Longmire and Brothers which is right down the street from Southwood Valley. It's a 4/2.5 and they'd probably get it to your price range. Pool onsite and you don't have to worry about the yard.
