How skinny does the river get? Any jet lower units in your future?

Some of the rivers are so skinny that they are for raft floats. But the river that I live on is between locks so it's at a more or less maintained pool

Just found out id be staying in CS for the next 4 years and my resolution was to finally buy a boat too. That's a nice lookin one you picked up and I'm mega jealous.

I had the same boat until a couple months ago when I sold it to a friend. It is a great boat. Mine had a 35 merc that would eat water pump impellers. The boat was great, very dry. Take it easy in rough water. Being young when I first bought it (14) I pushed it too hard and over flexed the sides causing a crack between the rivets. That was from being dumb not normal use. I never had a rivet leak.
I caught 1000s of fish in that boat and spent days pulling my buddies on a knee board.

This one has a 70 hp merc. I'm assuming, since the boat is only 900 lbs that it will haul ass.

It will fly! I planned to put a 70 on mine when the 35 died but it never did it is an '88 and is still running. Mine ran about 25mph. I think I got it to about 28 unloaded and 50 pounds ago. The good thing about the 35 was if the battery died I could start it with the pull rope pretty easily.

You forget it is back there when pulling it. Make sure you strap down the transom well. Being that light it will want to shift on bumps. I had a pretty tight spot to park it behind my dads boat. I often just unhooked it from the truck and rolled it into place.

Oh and don't forget to plug the live well when not in use. That hose likes to fall down and will fill up with water. Not as bad as forgetting put the plug in the transom but you will take on weight and not know where the hell it is coming from.
