I've wanted a little 410 snake charmer for years. I just starting looking for one and can't seem to find one anywhere. Anybody got any leads?

For my "snake charmer" I picked up a 20 gauge model (H&R) a while back from Academy. Stainless. Ended buying a Choate stock for it to store shells/etc in it. Paid like $150 for it.

Looking for a .410?
Why not a Taurus Judge or S&W Governor?

I've got one of the Comanche's. They're awesome little guns. Not much to them. Shoot 410 and have a separate choke for 45LC. I think mine cost me like $175. Pretty cheap option

I'm cheap. I've always thought this would be a good cheap gun to keep in the barn or on a tractor.

I have a Stevens/Savage 22lr/410 Over under that is one of my favorite guns. It was actually one of great grandpas saddle guns. A simple slide of a button could go from 22 to 410 depending on what kind of a shot you needed. I see them on sites like gun broker often for a few hundred bucks

Not my gun but a web version

I have a Mossberg 500 Youth .410 for just such a use. I think I paid $330 at Cabelas 3 or 4 years ago.

I've got a New England Firearms .410 that I received the day I was born. I haven't used it to kill any snakes, but I imagine it would do the trick just fine

I have a 410 Snake Charmer (exactly like the snake charmer posted above) I'd be interested in selling.
Haven't considered price though so make an offer.
I can email pictures.

Currently serves as a backed in the corner crouching behind bed security system.
HAve a box of PDX-1's to go with it.

Yildiz .410 Single Shot Break-Open Shotgun ($100-130)

You could cut the barrel down to match the stock length at about 21"
Weighs 3.3lbs with a 28" barrel.

My snake charmer is 20+ years old. Rattlesnakes are not fond of it.

I have the 22WMR/20ga version of that and it's one of my favorite guns. Picked it up for a song years ago. Great for anything smaller than a deer!

I like the portability of a pistol for toting around while shredding pastures but the patterning on a shotgun. A gun of that size can be cut down as short as you like so it fits near your seat while mowing. Cheap, reliable, and handy as all hell. Snakes and rats don't have a chance.

I just buy CCI brand .38 special calibre shotshells loaded with either #9 or #4 shot and carry those in my S&W .357 magnum when I'm working bird dogs in the off season to deal with snakes, skunks, porcupines, etc.

Tried some trap shooting with a .410 once just for ****s and giggles.

Wow that was difficult.

I learned to shoot clay pigeons with a single shot, hammer fire, 410. Let's just say I'm a decent shot now.

Yes, it's better than nothing.

I work my bird dogs on wild quail in the offseason, until the hens go on the nest and again in the fall after the chicks mature.

I'd rather not try to explain to a GW why I have pointing dogs working birds in March or April or October and I'm toting a .410 or 20 gauge.
