Friends,

The better half has asked me about what I'd like to add to our wedding registry. Since the Cabot Big Bang pistols aren't available on Amazon, I've come to y'all asking for help. I really like being outside, fishing and hunting, hiking, and am also interested in electronics. Basically, your easy going outdoor enthusiasts who likes his gadgets.

- What kind of tools would y'all suggest (I have a screwdriver set, Allen wrenches, drill) Is there anything I really need other than those?
- What are some things you wished you'd asked for early on that you got later?
- What would y'all suggest in the cooking/grilling department?
- Anything in particular that can be added to amazon?

We are registered at Bed Batha and Beyond, and Amazon.

Thanks in advance, I look forward to your colorful commentary

We're getting married on Saturday. Registered at Bed Bath and Beyond, Pottery Barn, and Home Depot. She picked everything at Pottery Barn, I picked everything at Home Depot, and we both did Bed Bath and Beyond. Home Depot was a good idea, but they don't have an online registry so not sure what all we'll get from there. Best thing I asked for from Bed Bath and Beyond, and already got is a Foodsaver and it's awesome. Definitely an upgrade for packing doves, duck, and fish so far.

Zola is a good place to register. You can put anything on it from other sites and just get the cash for it, but your guests won't know that the site gives you the cash when they buy the gift. You can set up a honeymoon fund and even make some of the more expensive items group buy gifts so multiple people can pitch in for them.

For gifts, I would put nice tools, nice kitchen knives, and nice luggage.

Try to upgrade stuff you already have if you can't think of anything new.

Do not skimp on knives. Definitely want a ladder as she will change her mind on where she wants things hung. I registered for a toolbox and a couple of small tools I did not already have.

Agrams should be able to help with this.

I know this sounds crazy, but my wife's great uncle bought us a good 100' extension cord. We still use it regularly 11 years later. They are good for apartment and for your home.

A few crescent wrenches would be nice along with a couple of pipe wrenches

We got all manner or "nice china" if you don't already own everyday place settings would be nice too.

I agree with nice cutlery. Can be had on amazon. We started with a "nice" set from Bed Bath and Beyond. They only lasted about 3 years.

A good quality imperial and metric ratchet and socket set.

I actually find my Bosch 12v drill/driver kit gets used around the house a lot more than my bigger and heavier 18v tools.

We skipped the fine China portion of the registry, and it was the best decision we made. A place setting is the default gift from that aunt you hardly see anymore, and you inevitably don't get them all, so you actually have to pay out of pocket to complete the set, which will then go in the new China cabinet you have to buy, only to be used once every other year when you host Christmas. Colossal waste of money.

And don't get Craftsman tools. Go Makita or Bosch if you can swing it.

Disagree. I have never liked Cutcos kitchen knives.

Steer away from sets.

I would just get a 8-10" chefs knife, a large serrated bread knife, and a 4-6" utility knife. Go to Wiliams-Sonoma and see what feels good in your hand.

If you can, china from a restaurant supply catalog is usually durable and very reasonable.

Quality flatware can be worthwhile

A nice big cutting board with deep channels comes in handy when cooking briskets and pork shoulders.

Agreed! Check out a 6" chefs knife as well. That one just feels right to me.

Also, tools to sharpen knives with... Spyderco sharpmaker is a decent started kit if you are not used to stones.

There is a food that you MUST NOT let your bride-to-be consume. If you ever want another BJ, you must never let her eat wedding cake. Otherwise, register away on your wedding gifts!

Bump. Just started registering today.

I've heard the best way to tools and stuff similar to that is Amazon since you can't register at Lowes.
