When i was looking for mine i researched a lot on Charlie and liked what I saw. I stumbled on a lady who had a litter and went that route instead. My GSPs father was a gun dog and from what I could tell was a damn good one.

All i'm missing is the little * by his name saying "champion or this that and the other" which i didnt care about to begin with.

Rob Martin @ TGR Gundog Kennels (Canton, Tx area) has very good german shorthairs. I picked up a started 2 year old in November and she is doing amazing job pointing; holding steady & retreiving. I am very pleased with the dog.

A fellow hunter purchased a male cousin of my dog, from Rob, and he is doing great also. Excellent nose & hard running.

A dog to hunt a lot? A dog to hunt a little? Or a dog to hang out with?

I had a GSP for 12 years. She was all of the above. Some years I hunt a lot, some less. But I always hunt dove duck and quail every year. I have three boys and we all need a companion. My wife misses the security of our dog. I generally love this particular breed.

Any rec's for a good Brittany Spaniel breeder? Sorry don't mean to hijack the thread, just to add to it! I talked to Eddy Orns at Flying O ranch today after Bill Johnson at Pecan Tree recommended him. Wondering if anyone else has a recommendation. Flying O also has GSP's I believe.
