Canyon, I used to post as Killer-K

You might remember that my grandfather and his brothers grew up a block away from Col. Goodnight in Clarendon. His "townhouse" was within their playing field. They would go up and sit on the porch and he would tell them stories. They were polite and sat and listened to them until they could get away and go play. He said if we only knew who we were listening to and what he had to say, I might have written it down.

They once found a bow and quiver full of arrows up on the Salt Fork. They took it to Col. Goodnight. He immediately identified the band of Comanches.

He said that Col. Goodnight was a great man, he was always friendly and inviting when he was in town. And he said the second wife was something else (22 yo school marm he was 92). And I cannot post those stories here.
