Smoked Turkey Thanksgiving Quandary -- Advice Needed

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I'm smoking a turkey for Thanksgiving this year. No issue with this.

The problem arises because the meal is Thursday noon in College Station. I need to smoke the turkey Wednesday afternoon because we are headed to College Station Wednesday evening/night and I cannot smoke it once I get there.

So, I basically have to smoke the turkey, let it cool, refrigerate it overnight, then warm it up the next day. Am I just destined to have a dried-out, reheated turkey? Is there another way I'm not considering??

Any tips/hints/advice that could help me out are much appreciated!

I'd smoke it, let it cool completely, break it down to major components, then FoodSaver it. Warm it on Thursday in the FoodSaver bags, when at temp, open & finish slicing.

I have had no issues reheating a cooled turkey after I smoked it. A good coating of butter during the smoke then basting while you warm it should be fine.

This. Butter and basting are your friend
