I need to start looking for a pair of work shoes that will provide cushion and support while on standing on concrete a good portion of the day. I use cushioned floor mats in my shop which helps a lot but its time for a change in footware. What are y'all using in the shop when you're on your feet all day? I don't need or want work boots.
Thanks!

What type of environment? Are athletic shoes an option? If so, go that route.

Athletic shoes are fine, but they are often made with mesh toes which lets in lots of dirt. I'm liking what I'm seeing from New Balance.

Look at The North Face trail running shoes. I wear them a lot, and they are super comfy. They have Vibram soles.

I would normally suggest Danner for work boots, but If you just need comfortable footwear, then you may want to find a good hiking boot. I love Danner work boots and hunting boots, but hate their hiking boots.

I wear Salomon's now for my everyday wear from concrete to uneven terrain and absolutely love them...I've never had a shoe fit my foot so well. I have the hiking boots and the trail running shoes...very comfortable, pricey and worth it.

Buy once, cry once.

Ecco is a good thought. I have a pair that are what I would call business casual. They've held up for a few years of moderate wear and are incredibly comfortable.

I bought a pair of Ecco Rugged Tracks for hiking a year and a half ago. They've been the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. Have worn them most everyday since and will buy another pair as soon as these wear out.

I use:
Red wing 4470s for muddy days
Red wing 415 if laces are required and not primarily walking on concrete
Thorogood Heritage 6" white comfort sole if lots of walking on concrete that day, still my favorite boots minus if the job site is still coming out of the ground then I slip everywhere, but good for standing on concrete

Double H sucks
Justin work line sucks and heaven forbid concrete touches them they dry rot in an hour
Danner - haven't tried

I'm on my feet 8-10 hours a day, sometimes 8 days straight, and have decided over the years that Eccos are the best. I used to go with solid color Asics, but they just didn't hold up for more than 6 months or so.

I have a brown pair and a black pair of Ecco Biom Sport walking shoes that I wear at work with slacks every day. Black ones are probably three years old and just now thinking of replacing them. Brown ones are maybe a year and a half old and still going strong. They are both Yak leather and very light and durable.

Man, I used to love those boots but at almost $200, it is hard to justify them anymore. They are very comfortable, bust just don't last long enough.

I've got a nice broken in pair on right now that I think I bought at Rockin' R in Uvalde several years ago. I didn't pay $200 for them I know that.
