The birds are everywhere! If anybody hasn't found a place to hunt, I can put you on birds. We have multiple grain fields to hunt as well as a few tanks when it's a hot afternoon/evening.

They're thicker than thieves in Water Valley. That'll all change Thursday morning though.

You can show up early and stay til dark or however long it takes you to get a limit. Honestly though, the birds are so thick, it won't take long to limit out. Should be plenty of bonus ringnecks too!

How is the rain situation?

Should be some light scattered showers on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Nothing supposed to be over a tenth any day. If they aren't coming to water bc of it standing on the ground, we will hunt milo fields. They gotta eat!

I shot some ring necks the other day in Wall because they were just everywhere. They were all full of wheat seed. This is gonna be a dove season for the books, boys.

Haha, I met the outfitter that had the hunters that got treated like criminals last year on opening day. Said he laid in ants with machine guns pointed at him for a long damn time.

I want to do this so bad. Too damn bad it's 4 hours away from Ft. Worth. If you know of anything closer, I would have at least 3-4 hunters that I can get together quickly.

Dirty.... are you out on the White-wing hwy by SAC off of Canal Rd??

If so, yep that is a bout a 10 minute limit.

I wish. We get to hunt over there off of Grand Canal on my grandpas best frIends corn field a couple times a season. The amount of white wings over there is insane. You really can limit out in about ten minutes with about ten shots right there.

We are in the Wall/Vancourt area, mainly mourning dove and ring necks with a few white wings in the mix.

I used to hunt on Weishuns off of Treece Rd.... I think it was Karl. It was good stuff.

Hunt out in Coke county on family's place now... not as many birds, but if you can shoot decently, you will limit by quitting time.

The White wings come out of town everyday to hit the milo fields on canal.... they stream in by the thousands.

Before white wings, that area was not any better than any other field east of San Angelo.

I will vouch for Dirty's area - you will have plenty of birds to shoot at...

I've hunted a couple milo fields out 2105 north of Angelo. Non stop action on one. Field was packed with hunters, probably too many, most limited.

Other field has abandoned rail road bisecting it. Birds fly in and out of town down the tracks. Pretty fun hunting.

Dirty.... it was a season lease and yep, from SA, but know a lot of Wall America folks.

Don't think I can make opening day... first one in a long time I will miss.

Because it's worth it.

My hometown has always been a great place to dove hunt. I hate that I'm missing opening day for the second time in a row. Not so much for the birds but simply enjoying the time out with my pops. I'll leave Ohio...someday.

Dependant on interest. I might taper off the dove hunts to only grain fields right around the end of this month, so we can have deer coming to feeders on the ranch when bow season starts. Fairly sure I will be able to put you on birds through the end of the 1st season, as well as the late season.
