Need a fence for ownership issues only. Will never run animals on it. I'm thinking 3 strands. What might this cost per foot? This is in Polk county. Any recommendations on someone to do it? Will be a fairly small job.

How small? Small ranch fence projects get real expensive.

Circle A, Bill Anderson has a good reputation and I worked with a guy Tim, Home Pro, for 15 years, does excellent work. Built a fence around 180 acres for us.. either one will do a good job.

No idea on costs.

I'd recommend at least 5 wires. The wire itself is a fraction of the fence cost. Post, braces, and labor will be the vast majority of your cost.

The fence itself (depending on how you intend to build corners, post spacing, line posts, stays, etc) should be around $1 / foot. But that's material only (and on the minimum side of expense). Lots of variables to consider and I'm not positive what labor rates are on them today.... somewhere around $2.50/foot would be my guess for a cheap turnkey job.

I think $2.50 / ft would be a very good price including labor and materials.

The variables from there would be travel time each day, ground conditions (too hard / rocky or too soft getting tractor stuck / needing sand or concrete for corner posts) and amount of time needed for clearing fenceline and what you expect to be done with cleared brush.

I was quoted $3 / LF for 5 strand in East Texas. This does not include any bull dozing, mulching, tree removal, etc.

It's been a while since I've built any fence, but I think your $1/ft estimate would be on the high side. I looked at tractor supply, and the cost of t posts and wire runs about $.68/ft considering 10 ft spacing between posts and 5 wires. Costs should be lower through a contractor who should be getting wholesale prices. The only other variable would be pipe for corners and braces, but without knowing the terrain, it's hard to come up with an estimate for that. Where I'm at it's generally flat, so we just use 4 in pipe for corners and 2 7/8 every 1/8-1/4 mile for stretch posts

That's likely accurate. I think the last good sized stretch we built was 92 cents a foot... (material only cost for 6 wires, 12' centers on T-posts, cross tie corners and line posts, and cedar stays between T-posts)... but everything was bought in larger volumes.

Just fenced 36 acres in Smith county. $3.50/lf. Included 61/2' hvy Ts, 7 strand red brand, metal pipe corners(triples), gate posts, and pulls w/sacrete. We provided the pipe and gates. He tore out some old fence, we cleared and dozed most. Good young Ag name of Ben Tarrant did ours. Great fence. Really happy with it and him. Probably too far away for you though.
