Thanks. BBS is sold out. They show them available online, but they are not in stock per the store associates.

Just north of San Antonio, but travel pretty much all over South and West Texas. I heard that Victoria's All-Sports carries them. I am going to give them a call tomorrow.

Lyssy & Eckel should have them. Or maybe it was mooremaker?

I have the stockman stag handle and love it. I recently found a new knife that I love at the Abilene Ranch Rodeo. It's made by Sam Houston Knives, stockman style with Damascus blades.

Check Nagel's Gun Shop on San Pedro inside 410 and north of Basse. I don't know if they'll have the knife you're looking for, but they do seem to usually have some in stock.

The knew one is a trapper (Sam Houston Knives).

I blame TexAgs OB for putting stuff like this in front of me.... that I was perfectly fine knowing nothing about...... and making me want to spend some $$$$ on what looks like some awesome quality stuff.

MBL: This is my first knife of Sam Houston Knives and so far it is working great. It's hard to beat an Eye Brand (I've had mine for 5 years) but this knife so far is (In my opinion) right up there. Holds an edge, fit well in the hand and very nice looking.

Cliff Polk makes some of the finest pocket knives I have ever held. His automatics are one of the coolest designs I have seen.

I knew I shouldn't have opened this - I just bought one of those German Eye Brand yellow trappers on eBay.

FYI, Lyssy and Eckel does have them. I had to get them to ship the trapper model from the Llano store, but they have other models at the store in Poth. Victoria All Sports has them too. Just passing along the info in case anyone else was wanting a new knife.

I bought the yellow German Eye trapper that was listed on eBay. I've had it a week or so now, and all I can say is, it was worth the hefty price I paid for it. I love trapper knives, carry one every day, and have collected many of them over the years - primarily Case, plus one Moore Maker. Those two don't hold a candle to this one - the blade material is thicker/sturdier, the overall construction/craftsmanship is far superior, and the edge is great. Of course, for the price you pay, it should be. The factory edge was good out of the box, but I ran it through the Worksharp and finished with a strop. Overall, if you are looking for a very well made trapper knife, I highly recommend this one. They seem to be hard to find, though.
