How long do you want to ignore this user?
I am curious what it costs to set up a gun trust and if anyone can recommend someone in DFW (if that matters). What all do I need to include and how exactly do they function? I.E. How do I then purchase through a trust instead of personally?

Two options... if you want something cheap and don't need a bunch of people on it, do the online ones that are under a hundred bucks. If you want something more in depth, we do trusts through Erik Reynolds. The normal price on Erik is $250 but we do a $200 price for Texags. I can get everything set up through phone/email. If you want someone local, Chris Bass is the go to guy in DFW and he's $300.

As to purchasing, basically, you're still buying but you're assigning it to the trust. So you'll still have to do a 4473 but the trust is who is taking ownership of it, if that makes sense. That's why we can ship suppressors in state if you have a trust and CHL. Fun part is that you can even do that for firearms... though most dealers won't do it for guns.

Chris Bass, based on our experience. Every time I've had a question he has responded very quickly--including weekends.

Look at Larry Young also. I just sent him my paperwork. $99 and you can call him anytime. Turnaround of a day or two max.

What are the advantages of having a trust?

Our grown kids are on our trust. So they can use the items when we are not present and those items will essentially be theirs when we die. So the trust owns them, not us.

There is lots more to it, but those are the 2 biggies to us. Google is your friend.

So we put our silencers and our suppressors in the trust.

I would recommend Erik to draft your trust. Very knowledgeable and accessible if you have questions. I would highly recommend "The Gun Store" in Cedar Park if you are close. Those guys are good to go.

Edit: I saw you said DFW but for you Austin area guys look up David at the above.
