Howdy OB. This from my St. Augustine lawn in Houston. I've tried Atrizine, Certainty, Quicksilver, Promidine...no luck. I've pulled a ton of it but they have some very hard roots for their size. Anyone know what it is and how to beat it without wiping out the grass?

It's some king of mallow/globe mallow I think

I'm fairly certain it's not of the mallow family. Serrated leaves, grows 18" in a couple of months (missed one for a while growing between rose bushes). Almost a woody stem.

Don't have my guides on me but false mallow or globe mallow is what pops in my head.

I have this stuff all over and have not been able to identify. Admittedly, I havnt tried that hard. But a search online has turned up little. The closest I got was Arrowleaf Sida, but im pretty sure that's not it. I definitely have that weed though and Ill let you decide.

Liquid Atrazine will do the trick on Henbit in St. Augustine. Make sure temps are right for application.

Henbit is edible. Never tried it but learned about it in military survival training

Y'all have an idea? It spreads out in bunches mixing with the grass but only has a single stem to the ground.
6-8" clumps but stays in between & on top of the grass.

I'll piggyback as well, three different weeds I have in the back yard, all growing to about 8-12 inches.

Top to bottom:

Peppervine

Dewberry

Poison Ivy

Sida & dewberry: spray MSM
Cherryvine: dicamba in the fall
Poison ivy: 3-way herbicide or triclopyr

Try Spurwort in a google search and see if that matches your weed.
