Stihl.

I guess I'll have to say "Duh".

On any of these be sure to treat your gas with marine grade StaBil. This is the green stuff and not the red stuff.

Keeps the ethanol in emulsion so it doesn't destroy all the soft goods in small engines

Thanks Obama....

I own an Echo. The string replacement is the easiest and quickest around. Great machine! Starts like a dream.

I've owned a Husqvarna, Ryobi and Weedeater in the past. I would not recommend those.

Shindiawa for your string trimmer.

I buy the Poulan blowers at Lowes. They usually last several years, then I buy a new one.

I was just looking on line to replace an 8 yr old echo. It still runs great but needs some replacements parts so I decided just to buy a new one. I just saw that echo has a speed feed head feature that looked interesting. Anyone have one and how does it work?

I have one.

It is the absolute easiest/fastest string replacement you'll ever use.

Buy it.

For all the *****ing and complaining I hear about ethanol, I have yet to have a problem with an outboard, weedeater, ATV, xuv, lawnmower, chainsaw, etc that I use whatever mid grade gas I get from the pump that has some mix of ethanol in it. Yes I run additives (Stabil, Star-Brite), but not every fill up.

Some people must seriously neglect their equipment and toys.

Here's my issue. I don't have a lawn. Xeriscape. But the rest of the property is all wild...

But I only need to trim once a year. But when I do...I'm covering 5 acres..

So fuel stablizer recommendation.... I appreciate it.

I've had to rebuild a weed eater and a blower because ethanol ate the fuel hose up and gummed up the carb.

It's also less efficient than gasoline and it's paid for with fking subsidies that shouldn't exist.

You're right. I should go visit the politics board.

I have both in Stihl. Highly recommend Stihl. Stihl has a string replacement head that loads exactly like the Echo. Get that and then you have the best !

Have an Echo weedeater. Best investment in yard care that I have made so far. Starts up super easy and when the line runs out I can replace it quick and easy and get right back to work. Highly recommend

Can you take it back and get the combi-system?

I've had mine for 4 yrs now. Trimmer, edger and blower all with one motor that always starts.

I did upgrade to the speed feed trimmer head. I highly recommend that as well.

Echo. A friend of mine is a service manager at a tractor shop. He recommended Stihl for almost everything except trimmers. Echo has a better engine and warranty.

I would hope the new trimmers were same quality (or close) as old. Dad just replaced a 30 year old FS65 AVE Stihl trimmer. Actually, all it needs is carburetor kit and new coil. However, new coil is $127 and the carburetor is NOT the Walbro but a Teikei (more rare) and not sure I can find that carb kit. They are only $10-$20. Other than that, everything else still works. But with price of new coil, he just decided to buy new one.

I'm in the market for a gas blower, and I settled on the Echo at Home Depot for $149. Gets great reviews.
