The design started back in 2011, and I finally got a milling machine in the summer of 2013. Since then I've been hard at work on this prototype pistol. The main idea is to place your wrist directly in line with the recoil so as to eliminate muzzle flip. Obviously it's still a work in progress, but it's now patent pending so I thought I would share with the community. The first picture is shown with a magazine that works in a similar way to the FN P90, and the second picture is a more conventional double stack stick magazine.

Have you shot it yet? How does it shoot?

Here is a question, say you flip the magazine down and hold on to it while you shoot it, isn't that technically an AOW?

I like the premise, never can have to many guns. Crimson Trace will have a hellova time with laser placement

nope, just like you can hold the magwell of an AR-15 pistol...

Very cool, and now you make me want to pursue my idea for a lever action .223/6.5/6.8 carbine even more.

Or a Tec9.

The gun is still designed to shoot with only one hand.

Cool idea. I'd be interested to know how it feels in hand because there is basically no weight supported by the hand

How long is it from muzzle to grip?

As long as you use a box or rotary magazine. One of the huge deterrents to a tubular magazine in a lever action is the pointed tip of the bullet possibly igniting primer of other round upon hard recoil or being dropped.

Don't want to derail the thread further, but more of a scaled down 1895 action with box magazine. Its been done before.

Nothing patented like the OP and congratulations to him for navigating the boondoggle that is the USPTO.

I believe you can find Browning BLRs in .223/5.56.

Yes, they are out there. Not what I want.

Total length from the muzzle to the end of the grip is about 10". Still trying to work some bugs out, but muzzle flip is definitely reduced. I'll try to get to the range this week and take a video.

Cool. I saw your post on arfcom this morning. Good to see stuff like this in a stagnant industry. Gig Em and keep up the fire.

Arthur Savage did that 120 years ago.

21 oz. unloaded. The weight is TBD fully loaded; the magazines I have right now are too much of a prototype to give a good number.

Any way to get it to work with an existing mag?
