Bought my first pair of Luchesse's March of 2014. Sole is already separating and not just the rubber on the heel. One of the leather layers is separating.

Anybody sent theirs back to Luchesse for refurbishment. Or do you guys have a place in Houston that you all trust.

Very annoying as I've had plenty of shoes and boots worn more than these that have lasted years without needing sole work.

I gave mine to the Houston Shoe hospital when they were in pretty terrible condition and they came back looking great. I use them for all my boots and shoes and they have been excellent to work with.

hopefully you just got a lemon. I have a pair of Luchesse boots but I don't wear them everyday. I wear redwings for my day to day activities.

I've never had to take a pair of boots in to be fixed, but I will watch this to see the recommendations

I take mine to Al's Handmade boots when I need a resole. He charges about $85 for full job and usually turns them around in a couple of days.

I bought a pair of Luccheses back in December and within 2 weeks one of the rubber soles were coming off. Had it fixed at Great Western Boot Company in Houston. Now, 2 months later, the other shoe's sole is coming off. Kinda frustrating when you pay this much for a pair of boots.

Great Western Boots (off of 290 near 43rd) was recommended to me and I was very happy with the job they did on mine.

I've worn mine daily for 5+ years, on my feet all day. They've held up great.

Used to always wear Lucchese's. Then I bought a pair of boots from Heritage Boot in Austin. They are hand made, small batch boots based on vintage designs. Expensive, but I really like them.

I have many pair of lucchese boots. From 1970's made in San Antonio to the recent 1883 line made in El Paso. Goat, calf, exotics. None of mine were made in Mexico so those are really the only ones I can't comment on.

I know people that refuse to wear lucchese after the move to El Paso, I know people who refuse to wear lucchese after they split into the 3 separate lines (classics, 2000 and 1883).

Ironically, the former employees that went to Blackjack are now also making budget lines just like lucchese.

I personally think they are well made boots across the board. I like that they do not keep their value and I buy almost all of mine used. Regular maintenance is a must with any boots. Get them resoled at a reputable shop. I would not send them back to lucchese.

I've had a pair of Luccheses that I wear about 2-3 times per week for the past 9 months ... The fit is a bit awkward, and they still continue to creak and squeak (which is starting to get really annoying). Luckily they were a gift because they cost $800, and I like them much less than my $150 Justin ropers that I've had for 15 hears.

I don't think I'll be buying another pair.

Same problem with mine. $600 dollar boots and they wore out as quick as a pair of cheap Justin's. I was very disappointed.

Buying Anderson bean or black jacks will solve this problem

I've had my elephant Blackjacks for 5+ years. Put one sole on them. Sent them back to Blackjack for it through Cavenders. $120 and 3 weeks and it's like I got a new pair. Damn good boots.

I have some 1836 ones...some kind of goat or something. Anyway, they were several hundred bucks and they are super nice. I didn't even know lucchesse had rubber soled boots. That said, I agree with it being ridiculous. I'd call them and explain the concern.

I have a pair of ariat roughstock boots from academy that are close to 3 years old or so. They are literally worn every single day and have been through two rhee longs. Soles are in great shape and there is nothing coming apart on them. I paid 120 for them.

Lucchesse should be ashamed of that performace.

Edit: boots are 1883, not 1836. Lol. That's something else.

When I say rubber, I'm talking about the anti slip rubber on the heels. The sole is sewn leather. The sewn part is coming apart.

I ordered a pair of Classics and they came in totally screwed up in one boot (way too much material on top of foot) so I sent them back for repairs to the factory. they came back and were STILL not right. I sent them back a second time and they responded back that they were fine.

I won't buy another Lucchesse again. terrible customer service.

Same, I got a pair of elephants in 2009 wearing them right now. Most comfortable shoes I've ever owned.

I have two pair and love them.

I have a pair of Luchesses I've worn since 2010 and have only had to replace the heel once. All of my others have held up well.

I have Anderson Bean, Tony Lama, Black Jack and Luchese in my closet (multiples of each; I'm a boot wh-re)... have had most of them resoled a minimum of twice. No problems with any of them and I'm fairly hard on boots, wading thru cow sh-t and muddy pens on a regular basis. Have to admit that the Anderson Beans are probably as well built as any I own though.

I've got 2 pair or of Luchesse 2000's in full quill ostrich that I found on closeout about 5 years ago. Crepe soles. Both have held up and are comfortable, but I still prefer my Anderson Beans (3 pair) and of course my pair of handmade alligators from ANC on the west side of SA (dad shot the gator...)

I am the same way. Some people act like boots that need to be resoled are "worn out".

Nothing wrong with needing a resole. That's why I better shoes and boots so I can do that just think this is abnormally quick.

Since yours are separating, it does seem like there was probably something wrong with how they were originally put together. That being said, a simple resole will solve the problem.

Again, I wouldn't send them to lucchese if they were mine. With new soles, I have noticed that some last much longer than others. Find a shop in your area that others have been happy with.
