How long do you want to ignore this user?
Is there any disadvantage to using your initials, such as XYZ Trust, instead of "last name Trust" ?

Was thinking about going with "Initials" Gun Trust

I would name it Xyz Trust and leave out the gun. Less letters to engrave is always a positive

I did mine as "'Family Last Name' NFA Trust", based on the recommendation of Chris Bass.

Same. You want something simple to engrave.

Pick something easy to understand over the phone

So there is really no benefit to using your last name over initials?

I wonder how many literal "xyz" trusts are out there.

Make it very short and sweet. You have to engrave it on your NFA items and you'll be sorry if it is long.

You saying I need to engrave the trust name on suppressors?

I guess that makes sense.

Engraving on lowers, not suppressors unless they are homemade.

Well it went from "NFA items", to lowers and homemade suppressors, now it's only lowers converted to SBR and homemade suppressors.

Do you work for the ATF?

SBRs are NFA items, as are suppressors.

All must be engraved upon completion.

Normal folks getting SBRs engraved is more common than building supressors.

The "maker" of the NFA item, and the location of the maker (City, State) must be engraved on the NFA item. That means if you (your trust) turn a lower into an SBR lower, the name of the trust and its location must be engraved on the lower. If you make a silencer, same thing. If you buy either one as transfers from the maker to the trust as an owner, no engraving is necessary (since the maker will have already engraved it's name and location on the item).

The concept is simple: "make" an NFA item (Form 1), engraving is necessary; buy a premade NFA item via transfer (Form 4), no engraving is necessary.

P.S. - my trust name is "[my initials] Firearms Trust," but it could be almost anything.
