A warning shot?

The video is on the KXXV News Channel 25 Facebook page.

It obvious she fired in the air as a "warning" shot, but I say she was negligent and should possibly face charges because there is no way she could have known her field of fire was clear.

Thoughts?

she should be ticketed for negligent discharge at a minimum. Although, I wonder if she could claim an affirmative defense of dependency on a public official because VP Biden said to fire warning shots.

You have obviously have never been to the Walmart in Gainesville, Texas. Not only do you get small town red neck Texans you get the added luxury of Land Thieves coming from just across the Red River....boy howdy is that good people watching!

Maybe she didn't have a CHL, and so left the scene.

Spend a day or two in the El Paso Wallyworld.

Not only do you get the locals, which is unique as it is, but you get the rich Mexicans from across the border as well.

First Walmart I ever went to. Back when my grandad was the city judge.

When was that? I probably have some relatives that know him. I've had family in Warren for a few generations.

When my dad and I get bored at the lease we make a trip for some cheap entertainment.

If you EVER need to feel better about your life just walk around ANY Walmart for 5 minutes.

The lady turned herself in Friday night, she was released without being arrested, but her case is being referred to the grand jury.

Looks like they have indicted the woman in Waco who fired the "warning" shot.
I know it was reckless but it helped detain a thug and that is a happy ending in my book.
I'm saddened that the thug will likely get less of a punishment than the good citizen who tried to stop a crime.

The Wal-Mart in Hearne, TX closed in 1990 after rampant employee theft forced them to close. According to Wal-Mart executives at the time, WalMart never showed a profit in Hearne.

That's the joke.

I had not heard Hearne was employee related theft -- just theft in general.

When I was early in college, I worked at Mont. Ward -- then a dying store. The store I worked at didn't get a whole lot of business (leading to me quitting since I was 100% commission), but I often now think of how easy it would have been for me to steal VCRs, stereo equipment and maybe a few TVs.

So what happened to the bullet she fired?

Did God reach out and grab it so no one else was hurt? Did it just keep going up and up into space?

It landed somewhere

Firing recklessly into the air could cost someone their life, no one was in danger the moment before she pulled the trigger, but once she did, people's lives were in danger.

Did the bad guy get caught and no one was hurt? Yes. Is that a good thing? Yes. Could it have ended badly? Yes.

He shouldn't be held to a lesser standard but neither should she
