I carry a Sig 320 9mm compact in the summer. Winter I carry my 226.
I will NEVER apologize for being American

suprafly03 any chance you also have a Beretta 92fs compact?

would like to see some side by side shots of that and the M11-a1, Unfortunately no shops in my area have both.

Old EDC was HK P30 .40 in a IWB Crossbreed Supertuck, but it wasn't a good option for me for when I'm wearing slacks, so I've switched to mainly carrying a Sig P938 in a Desantis Superfly for pocket carry. Superfly (over Nemesis) helps break up the profile more in your pocket.

No, but a good buddy does. If I can, I'll get with him for a photo-shoot...#NoHomo.

OP did ask for pics....most of yall are failing.

Old EDC: Glock 19 in leather OWB holster. Comfortable, and it's a gun I've used in competition and am very comfortable with. Light, high capacity. Really, really hard to beat a G19.

My "can't carry anything else" gun: Ruger LCP in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster. Beats harsh words and a stick.

Now, my latest and favorite and what I think OP should heavily consider if he's looking for an all metal, DA/SA gun like his Sig but a little lighter and easier to carry: My CZ P-01 in a Bladetech IWB holster.

And a naked pic:

My P-01 is not stock. It has Cajun Gun Works parts and VZ grips on it and it is still well under OPs $1200 budget. It is also smaller in every category than his currently carried Sig. I checked the specs of the two guns, and the CZ is 75% of the weight of the Sig, thinner, shorter, etc. If you want smaller, lighter, all metal, same operation as your current gun, I think a P01 would be a fantastic option for you, OP. I'm loving mine so much it's slowly replacing the G19 that I've used for both concealed carry and competition for a long time.

Heck, if you're near the Temple area you can even try mine out before you buy to see if you'd like it.

Bender, I have a P-01 that I installed the CGW package into, and I'm waiting on a good range day put some empirical comparisons in with my full size M&P (Apex'd). I've been carrying M&Ps for years now, but I found I shoot the CZ SP-01 Shadow much better (almost GM in USPSA, not ready to never place at a major again - ha!) and would like my carry and competition gear to be as similar as possible. The decocked DA pull is about 6.5# but is very smooth, and I measured the SA trigger about about 3-1/4#. Dry firing it, I'm digging it.

As an instructor, I generally do NOT recommend DA/SA guns for people unless they have a lot of experience with them - first shot is pretty much always the most important, but when we see DA/SA guns in class, usually the student either has a really slow first shot from not starting to work the trigger soon enough in the press-out, or a horrific yank at the end for the same reason. I'm really curious to see how the experiment goes given the amount of time I've already put into running the Shadow well and mastering the DA first shot. I'm betting I am going to really like the P-01.

I hear you, and that's why in general I tend to prefer striker fired or SAO guns to DA/SA....but the DA on this P-01 is no heavier than the striker pull on the G19, and the follow up shots are really really nice.

Since OP is already carrying a DA/SA gun and was looking for an all metal carry piece, I really think the P-01 might fit the bill for him. I'm warming up to mine very quickly. Wasn't as hot on it in stock form (trigger was too curved for my personal preference, trigger reach was long and reset was long as well), but with CGW parts it's really quite a fantastic gun.

Well, if it's any value, I'm either getting a G30S or a G19 as my next carry gun.
Leaning toward a G19, purely as I'm blind as a bat without my glasses, and I can get a green laser guard for it.

I'd rather carry my G41, but, TMK, I cannot get a laser for it.

Or, it's a 5.7, as its absurdly light

Generally nothing. I have never been able to comfortably carry a gun. It annoys the hell out of me and where I live I don't really worry about it. When I go to the city or feel like I want to carry it's either a Taurus 85 or a Kahr K40 in an IWB holster.

On the occasions I do carry, XD SC-9 in a CompTac Mtac. Usually around 6:30-7:00 position (i am left handed and use a right hand holster). But I really dont carry much anymore.

I used to carry a 1911 Compact - prefer that frame above all others, but it eas stolen and I have not replaced it.

Mrs. Rocket Surgeon and I each carry the H&K P2000sk with the only difference being I have Trijicon HD sights while she opted not to install them. We both love the controls and ergonomics of the P2Ksk and I also tend to agree that the grip is more comfortable (at least for me) than the P30sk. Some people complain that the mag release lever is too small, but my thumb finds it naturally. We both also carry the DA/SA with the decocking lever on the back of the pistol adjacent to the hammer; it was a little odd at first, but I absolutely love the configuration now. I have a 45c that I carry in colder months and if H&K came out with an updated version using the same rearward location (instead of of the side safety/decocker) I would trade up in a heartbeat.

I carry my sk in a Garrett Industries Silent Thunder which is a fantastic holster. The only drawback to the pistol is that being a double stack, naturally the grip is a bit thick for certain concealment applications. If H&K ever released a single stack I am convinced they would sell like hot cakes. That said, the P2000sk is a great little(ish) package and a bargain at the new lower price IMHO.

I personally prefer DA/SA. I practice a lot in DA both 1 handed and two handed. I like the added safety of DA on the first shot - but I still shoot the gun well.

I wlll admit that until I had a near robbery experience, I never bothered practicing the DA on a DA/SA - I always cocked the gun at the range when I started shooting. After that, I started to practice the DA shot. Been doing so for 6 or 7 years now - I always shoot a few mags with every shot in DA. It's not that hard with some practice.

Nobody carries revolvers? I'm thinking about selling my Glock 33 and getting something that I can pocket carry. The glock is just too fat for me, and I've had bad luck with Keltecs.

Look at the Kahr CM9. I had a CW9 for a while, which I loved. I only sold it because wanted to pick up a CM 9 to be able to pocket carry. I just haven't gotten one yet.

I usually have my Rohrbaugh in my pocket. If not, a J frame

If my pants will hold it, I'd carry my 327 SP-101, happily, but it doesn't seem to sit down in the pockets of my recent pants.

I use to carry a full size Springfield loaded in a comp-tac infidel, I still do occasionally carry it but my current everyday carry is a S&W M&P 340 in a desantis holster. Fits easily in the front pocket of my jeans, easy to conceal and easy to draw.

You dudes must be giant or wear some b**** clothes. I guess people tend to not really look that hard for CC handguns on others, and that makes it work with these larger handguns. When I take even a small handgun and practice concealing it, it imprints pretty visibly, and I am a pretty average size man.

Good belt and good holster, positioned in the right place on your body, make a huge difference. I do wear a size larger shirt than I need, but I can conceal decently under the right size shirt.

Glock width: 1.18 inches.

J frame cylinder width: 1.31 inches.

If you want less fat, try a single stack gun.

Broad shoulders help a lot. I wear clothes that fit me comfortably with or without a gun. They're not b****, but they're not "fitted" either. I'm kind of a big guy though, so it hides well.

I am about average size 6' and 230 pounds, I do have broad shoulders. The whole key to concealing a fullsize or even compact size firearm is the holster and belt. Those two things will make or brake how easily you can carry/conceal the firearm of choice. With my 1911, I can carry it concealed with or without my shirt tucked though I normally prefer to go untucked a I rarely tuck my fishing shirts in. As for my revolver carrying it in my pocket looks no different than if I had a phone or wallet in that pocket.

I've found the G43 a little too big and heavy to carry in pants pockets, particularly shorts in the summer. Thus, I think I'm going to get rid of it and get a P30sk for belt carry this fall/winter and next spring worry then about a pocket carry.

Any takers on the Glock 43? I don't know what the street price is, and there have been about 20 rounds through it -- flawlessly.

The key is shooting the DA under time pressure, and not a lot of people do. DA is no problem when you have the luxury of spending 2 seconds slowly manipulating the trigger. When you have to manage it and you are still trying to be able to break an accurate shot from concealment under realistic par times, that's when it goes to hell for people unless they put the work in. Otherwise, they end up with the horrific yank in order to make the par time.

Shooting some USPSA production with a DA/SA is a good way to discover how easy it is to throw either the first or second shot on that type of gun under pressure. Or both shots.

This something that I was curious to bring up. I am 5'11" 160lbs. I don't think I can conceal 1911bobed officer much less a govt model. I want to try a shield or g43 and see if they could work.

DFW area. Going to be in Waco later this month. I need $475, but that includes a pocket holster and everything (LIKE New) IB. Just FYI, I will need to copy your DL and get your signature on a bill of sale that I will have the dealer I bought the gun from staple to my paperwork.

Stop wearing hipster skinny jeans.

I kid, as others have said good belt good holster, and appropriate cover garment. And most importantly normally people can't tell because they can't be bothered to look up from their phones.

I've shot my friend's PPS. Thought out was a pretty good gun with a good trigger. I would want to shoot a G43 before I made a decision, but if I was in the market for a single stack 9mm it would be something I'd lean towards.

I had a glock 23 and it was just too wide and big for me to carry comfortably. Going to buy a sig 938 this month. I don't like having to buy bigger shirts or pants so I'm stuck with a single stack on what I can carry to get the width down as much as possible.
