I carry a Sig 320 9mm compact in the summer. Winter I carry my 226.
I will NEVER apologize for being American

suprafly03 any chance you also have a Beretta 92fs compact?
would like to see some side by side shots of that and the M11-a1, Unfortunately no shops in my area have both.
quote:Bender, I have a P-01 that I installed the CGW package into, and I'm waiting on a good range day put some empirical comparisons in with my full size M&P (Apex'd). I've been carrying M&Ps for years now, but I found I shoot the CZ SP-01 Shadow much better (almost GM in USPSA, not ready to never place at a major again - ha!) and would like my carry and competition gear to be as similar as possible. The decocked DA pull is about 6.5# but is very smooth, and I measured the SA trigger about about 3-1/4#. Dry firing it, I'm digging it.
OP did ask for pics....most of yall are failing.
Old EDC: Glock 19 in leather OWB holster. Comfortable, and it's a gun I've used in competition and am very comfortable with. Light, high capacity. Really, really hard to beat a G19.

My "can't carry anything else" gun: Ruger LCP in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster. Beats harsh words and a stick.

Now, my latest and favorite and what I think OP should heavily consider if he's looking for an all metal, DA/SA gun like his Sig but a little lighter and easier to carry: My CZ P-01 in a Bladetech IWB holster.

And a naked pic:

My P-01 is not stock. It has Cajun Gun Works parts and VZ grips on it and it is still well under OPs $1200 budget. It is also smaller in every category than his currently carried Sig. I checked the specs of the two guns, and the CZ is 75% of the weight of the Sig, thinner, shorter, etc. If you want smaller, lighter, all metal, same operation as your current gun, I think a P01 would be a fantastic option for you, OP. I'm loving mine so much it's slowly replacing the G19 that I've used for both concealed carry and competition for a long time.
Heck, if you're near the Temple area you can even try mine out before you buy to see if you'd like it.

I generally do NOT recommend DA/SA guns for people unless they have a lot of experience with them - first shot is pretty much always the most important, but when we see DA/SA guns in class, usually the student either has a really slow first shot from not starting to work the trigger soon enough in the press-out, or a horrific yank at the end for the same reason.
quote:Look at the Kahr CM9. I had a CW9 for a while, which I loved. I only sold it because wanted to pick up a CM 9 to be able to pocket carry. I just haven't gotten one yet.
Nobody carries revolvers? I'm thinking about selling my Glock 33 and getting something that I can pocket carry. The glock is just too fat for me, and I've had bad luck with Keltecs.

quote:Broad shoulders help a lot. I wear clothes that fit me comfortably with or without a gun. They're not b****, but they're not "fitted" either. I'm kind of a big guy though, so it hides well.
You dudes must be giant or wear some b**** clothes. I guess people tend to not really look that hard for CC handguns on others, and that makes it work with these larger handguns. When I take even a small handgun and practice concealing it, it imprints pretty visibly, and I am a pretty average size man.

I've found the G43 a little too big and heavy to carry in pants pockets, particularly shorts in the summer. Thus, I think I'm going to get rid of it and get a P30sk for belt carry this fall/winter and next spring worry then about a pocket carry.
Any takers on the Glock 43? I don't know what the street price is, and there have been about 20 rounds through it -- flawlessly.
quote:The key is shooting the DA under time pressure, and not a lot of people do. DA is no problem when you have the luxury of spending 2 seconds slowly manipulating the trigger. When you have to manage it and you are still trying to be able to break an accurate shot from concealment under realistic par times, that's when it goes to hell for people unless they put the work in. Otherwise, they end up with the horrific yank in order to make the par time.
I personally prefer DA/SA. I practice a lot in DA both 1 handed and two handed. I like the added safety of DA on the first shot - but I still shoot the gun well.
I wlll admit that until I had a near robbery experience, I never bothered practicing the DA on a DA/SA - I always cocked the gun at the range when I started shooting. After that, I started to practice the DA shot. Been doing so for 6 or 7 years now - I always shoot a few mags with every shot in DA. It's not that hard with some practice.

Anyone carry a Walther PPS? For that matter, anyone own or shoot a PPS?
I love my PPQ BTW.
