Yeah, the guy that didn't finish at the end was a bit of a D-bag. He screamed at the main guy because he was thinking about bringing back a horse that got hurt three months prior. Main guy didn't even bring up the horse to see if it was back in good condition, but the drama queen went ahead and did the exact thing he was b/tching about.

Other than that it was a pretty solid movie.

I was OK with the ending because that's real life. Not everyone cooperates.
I've dealt with plenty of people like that. You cant let them piss in your cheerios.
In a weird way I can understand the romance of letting the trail stay "undone". It keeps the mystery alive and it continues to humble you.

Saw it today. Fantastic movie. Those boys are living the dream and I'll freely admit I'm jealous as hell. I would have LOVED making that trip.

Would it change your mind if the main guy turned a trip that was supposed to be about saving mustangs into a money production?

SPOILER

We couldn't understand why that one guy wouldn't finish with them. It seemed really selfish. Kind of a "look at me, I'm different" attitude in a documentary that was all about experiencing something difficult with your friends.
agreed. was a weird twist at the end, and I'd bet that in years to come he'll regret that decision for the reasons you list.

Awesome movie.

Don't get the quitting at all. I try to think about the "leaving it undone" but that's just horse ****. All that way... Finish it. Stinks of selfishness in my opinion.

Bet a "money production" brings in more attention and recognition to mustangs than slow buggy crappy film.

As for not finishing.... Different strokes for different folks. The main guy also pushed for not skipping that one section when the horses ran off. I get his point. As a hiker I can be OCD about that. Due the trail and don't skip. Do the real trail and no shortcuts. Some people want a fun trip but don't have to do every mile to be content. In the case of the guy leaving the mile umdone... I thought it was a bit of leaving it unfinished to have something to dream of and possibly complete some day and a good bit of spite at the main guy.

My almost two year old son is obsessed with horses right now. Every time he sees a tv he says watch horse. We let him watch the movie and now it's all he wants to watch.

Watched this on netflix. So many shots of gorgeous scenery. Could have done without the "MTV Real World" drama between Masters and the other guy. Millennial cowboys griping at each other is not interesting. But the beauty of the scenery surpasses all of that.

I thought they did a good job of not focusing on the drama but showing enough of it to be a reminder that 4 months with the same 4 people day in and day out isn't easy

a little complaint. I was watching with one of my very youngsters. I could have done without the 4 letter words for their sake.

When Ben Thamer of Amarillo and his three college buddies took on the monumental challenge of taking mustang horses from the Mexico-Arizona border some 3,000 rugged miles north into Canada in 2013, being a film star didn't even register.

It was kind of a sidebar, and not the reason for the undertaking.
"When we started this deal, it was kind of like Ben Masters said to us that we're just going to film some stuff and make a video that you can show friends and family," Thamer said. "It quickly morphed into something much bigger. It's really a neat thing."

There are so many documentaries out there that don't make money. I hope this one did.

To be fair, spending a lot of time around 15 horses, especially 15 mustangs would likely cause The Pope to cuss a little...

Agreed. Beep it out or something. It's the only cuss word in the whole show and adds nothing to the story. My kids love the show though
