howdy ags- we have been using Banfield in SA, and while Dr Boone is a good vet- the rest of the Banfield system seems geared towards poking our eyes out. I know the Outdoors Board Knows Stuff so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

If you don't mind the drive Roy Madigan in Bulverde is Excellent we use him for our dogs! He's a big time Aggie and is a very nice vet! here is his site

I know these folks from our volunteer work at the Rodeo and have not used them professionally as we live in Wilson Co. but I can vouch that they're fine folks and the people that I know that have used them have good things to say. That's all I've got.

I'm sorry you know Seth. Actually, he's a good vet and friend. If you're looking for someone closer, Dr. Neelesh at River City Veterinary Care is another good option.

For years we used Dr. Dan Meadows, an Ag, at Pets First in Castle Hills. He has since retired and we still used his old practice. They take care of us...although it seems they are $$$, but not sure how they compare to other vets.

Dr. Danny Proctor at Universal City Animal Hospital. Since this is the Outdoors Board, the guy can flat out fish too.

If you want a good vet, go see Dr Weir at Patbooker animal hospital in universal city. I live in bulverde and drive the 20+ miles to use him.

Are you talking about James Gates? He has an office on Zarzamora. Great guy and honest. I went to school with him.... same class 1976. He probably got his DVM in 79. I talk to him once in a while. We were in the same squadron (12) in the Corps.

He used to have more than one office.... not sure if he still does.

Yes! Don't know why I put Robert (read an article about Robert Gates earlier and guess I got him confused). James is an awesome guy and a great vet. Once, he put my dog at the top of the list for some heart worm meds when there were none in the country (yes the US, my dog had it bad). Never forgotten that.

Depending on where you live, Dr Weir is great (Northeast).

I moved from Schertz to Northcentral SA and started using Towne North Animal Hospital at 281 and Bitters. Dr. McIlhaney is awesome, too.

Both Ags, of course. In fact, Dr McIlhaney played football for A&M and ran a kickoff back for a TD, as time expired, to beat Tech one year.

If you are willing to drive to Jourdanton, we use Dr. Clader '73 and have been very happy with him. We have used him for 20+ years.
