Both of you are sort of right... But remember that Palma rifles are very specialized tools and what they do wont work for regular folks with factory ammo.

Talked to him this morning about this thread. Palma rifles typically wear 30 or 32 inch barrels. They want every last bit of velocity that they can get to fight the wind. But for those barrels to work, they use handloads of very slow burning powder that you would normally never see in a .308 case. Contours are full on the barrels, but the last two inches are turned down to 750 to mount the required front sight.
