I would have loved to see the guys gun room from Comifornia that had that large amount of ammo and guns.

I think picture #5 is at the studio that does a lot of the guns for movies. I can't remember their name, but they've walked through their different rooms on Outdoor Channel a few times.

Some of those are just badass (OP's pic, for example) rooms that I'd have a hard time leaving in the first place.

Some of those look more like stores than home gun rooms.

I realize you were probably being facetious, but is this actually possible?! I know public ranges have all sorts of ventilation requirements due to airborne dust/lead but would a private range have something similar? I can't imagine it would be very difficult to squeeze a 15 yard range in a new custom home build. Would within versus outside city limits matter?

My brother built a house in Montana with an "indoor" range. He ran 36" culvert about 40 feet out from his house at the basement level so it was underground once it was all back filled. He had a few lights in it and a cable to run the targets back and forth. I only ever saw pictures as I never made it out there before he sold it.

Several do look like the high-end rooms at Cabela's.

Honestly, dead serious. We'll be building out in the country and I have two ways of doing it. One would be a semi open air where I can just open two garage doors and bingo, we're covered but have air flow. Otherwise, depending on the price, I want to do a legit indoor range. They aren't insanely expensive if you aren't needing professional (ie what I hope to put in next to the store next year) equipment. Basically, they drop a shipping container off and you build around it. Shipping containers will already stop a 9mm round, I think. Some basic improvements to them and they are good to go. It's not quite that simple but that's the gist of it.

There are some pretty good builds on Arfcom in the safes forum. If I ever custom build, I intend to build a reinforced study with a safe door to act as my gun safe.

I absolutely love that one. I'd like that one with a small wet bar in the corner and a big screen on one side. Indoor range through another door in the other. It'd be nice to relax and watch games in. Then you can take me out to pasture and shoot me.

I've been thinking of turning our guest room into a gun room. In 2 years, it's been slept in twice. I'm toying with the idea of using kitchen cabinets to build around the safes like a fridge or stove would be in the kitchen.

Also, my husband has a couple hundred baseball caps that he's collected from everywhere we've ever been. I'd like to put them in there too.
