Why are the fingers on his right hand (our left) so much bigger than the fingers on his left hand?

I'm curious if you guys know how this works? If he released it how do you prove how long it was? if all thats required is a photo on a measuring stick, I'm sure you could have some sort of photoshopped or non regulation ruler? They didn't weigh it either...

I'm not up on all the rules myself, but I will submit this narrative of how the Texas record spotted seatrout was taken by Bud Rowland (it's the first paragraph or two of a longer article). A lot of folks didn't agree with using his fish as the standard because he didn't kill it and bring it in - but the record stands and probably encourages more folks to think twice before killing trophy fish if there are other options. Now then, the next thing you will say is "WTF, Bud caught a 37" fish, how is 34" the new record?" Well. I don't know.
