Yesterday while helping the AC guy work on my outside unit, I leaned against the fiberglass cowling. Forearms were embedded with millions of tiny fiberglass splinters. I thought could wash it off. Three times! Nope! Thought a shower might help. NOPE!

Get to the parking lot at work with it itching like crazy. Then notice 2" clear packing tape in my car. Laid 1 strip at a time on the underside of my fore arms. Rip! Ahhh! 2 strips for each forearm. Total relief.

Found this Link this morning using duct tape

Tape works well for cactus, too.

I ran through a huge bed of cactus drunk one night, and had to use duct tape to get the little splinters out. It took a few hours, but it worked like a charm

Having worked for a boat repair shop, I learned to use baby powder and pantihose or take a cold shower.

Always cold shower, never hot.
Hot opens the pores and makes it worse.

I hate that.

I can remember putting insulation in an attic as a kid and being miserable for days.

One one my crappy jobs in HS involved tearing apart electric motors to recycle the copper. They were insulated in fiberglass. We had to rub what looked like vaseline on our arms before doing it. $4.00/hr.

The pantyhose trick works great in a pinch. had to use it one summer when I decided to wreck my bike into a big pile of *****ly pear.

Why would you decide to wreck your bike?

Years ago while in Florida on an internship I wound up with fiberglass in my arm. We were doing a beach cleanup and somehow I managed to lose my grip on a large piece of a boat hull that had washed up. It slid down my arm. Instantly I was on fire.

I got back to the landing craft we were using and immediately dug through and found some duct tape. I went through half a roll and got quite a bit out. Unfortunately I had forcefully caught the side of a big sheet. As it slid down my arm pieces were buried deep. Way too deep to remove with duct tape.

When we got back to the park I went straight to my house there and turned on the cold water in the kitchen. I grabbed a brillow pad and scrubbed probably for 20 minutes. It was agony but was no worse than the burn from that ****ing fiberglass. I swear it felt like someone had shoved a hot poker under my skin.

After a while I had gotten most of it. That night I tried to go to sleep but my arm kept pulsing with pain from what was left. Suddenly I got an idea. I went downstairs and grabbed the sharpest thing I could think of...my filet knife. I carefully scraped over the area with the blade facing AWAY from the direction I was pulling. I did have the blade down and I was still putting pressure on it but not cutting.

As crazy as it may seem this worked and I was able to carefully scrape away most of the remaining.

Tagguy, that sounds like a terrible day, but

it sounds like someone's day was worse.

True. It looked like it had been quite a while ago though. It was quite worn.

Last summer I got drunk and went down an old pool slide on my stomach. When I climbed out of the water my belly felt like it was on fire.

Know the feeling well!

Had to check to remember what board I was on.

Seriously, though, wish I'd seen these tips last week.
