My cousin was catching catfish on jugs with live perch the last few weekends. Another Ag showed me a pic of a 9# bass he caught jigging in dead trees a couple weeks ago. It was a SLAUNCH, wish I'd have got him to send me a pic of it.

Those are the only two people I've heard from that have fished it this year.

I would LOVE to fish that lake! I grew up fishing Soil Conservation lakes all over that area! I have to believe (albeit skewed from previous experience) that I could catch BIG Bass !

Love Ivie. It's 40 ft low. Elm Creek Marina is the only open ramp. Very rocky. Crank rocky points. Spinner baits in brush. Run up the river and flip the channel edges. Its not as easy fishing as it used to be but you could catch a giant. NW80- you should head up there sometime. Definitely worth a stop for someone who appreciates the area.

It's been on fire so far this year. Still haven't made it down this year though. If it were me, I'd spend my times pitching jigs to timber and cranking.

The water at Ivie used to be crystal clear in the main lake, so natural looking baits were key. With the recent rains, that may not be the case. The best fish at our tournaments (2 over 10 lbs.) were caught off the edge of the river channel punching through thick cover and dead sticking a senko.

Saw some interesting things at that lake. We had a doe swim by us while fishing a main lake point across from Elm Creek boat ramp, and we saw a bobcat and her cub come down to the water to drink along one shoreline. There used to be large herd of donkeys roaming around out there across from Elm Creek.

Great scenery and mostly great weather

My grandparents live on Ivie. Great place.

Bow fishing carp on the banks of the Concho and Colorado is a lot of fun, and makes for a good mid day break.

Did you have any luck with largemouth bass?

Caught this one dink on the back side of a white frenzy. 18 keeper whites. My buddy and I caught these from sat am to Sunday am, with best activity in am.
