The groomer got a little close and got down to the skin on the last grooming - I'm the groomer. Now the mutt keeps licking the spot and it's getting worse from his licking. What can I put on it to keep him from licking it? Vasoline? Axle grease?

You can mix some Neosporin and hydrocortisone cream and rub it on the area twice a day. If it still bothering him on Monday go to the vet.

I would do this plus what DVM said, bit I already have a cone from a previous hot spot.
