My husband, barney94, says he always gets great advice from y'all here on the outdoor board. I'm hoping for a similar result.

barney94, my 11 year old daughter and I will be spending a week in and around Jackson Hole, Wy in late July. I need suggestions for a fishing outfitter in the area for novices. I know he would love to try fly fishing but we are open to anything.

Also, any other suggestions on activities are greatly appreciated. We've spent a week in Yellowstone a few years ago and were thinking of concentrating more in the Tetons this time. Less car time and more hiking. Rafting down the Snake River is on our list as well. Thanks!

I haven't been, but for some reason I seem to remember a previous thread saying that "Reel Deal" out of JH is a top notch, Aggie owned outfitter. Give them a call

if it's Aggie owned and came recommended, go with Dirty 8's fishing guide recommendation.

Also try a Panther Martin inline spiner and a light spinning reel on the little lakes that are feed by the river and you can clean up on trout on unguided days.

Agree with above. I caught fish everywhere I fished in the park on spinning gear and spinners.

Not exactly kid friendly, but I caught a bunch of fish at the jackson lake spillway. Also saw an otter pair, an osprey and an eagle grab a small trout.
