How long do you want to ignore this user?
Would y'all go with a dedicated 6.8 suppressor or just get a .308 to be able to use with both? (i don't have a .308 right now) Will there be a significant noise reduction between the two?

One of the things I'm going to be talking to bison barrels about at shot. To me, 300 blk makes so much more sense for suppressed. You have to keep a round subsonic to make the suppressor really worthwhile so you have a maximum velocity. Energy is weight x velocity, so a 7.62 bullet should have more weight and therefore more energy than a 6.8 traveling the same speed. Since they are different platforms for 308 and 6.8, I'd say do an ar 15 with two different upper. You can do just one 308 but 6.8 sure is sexy. My dad was drooling over mine and he flat out doesn't get overly excited about new rounds

EyeGuy said it right. Get a .30 cal can. I'm guessing if you're shooting a 6.8 then you're hunting and you won't have squat for lethality with the largest .277 pill that will fit at mag length in a subsonic round. I love hunting with my 6.5 Grendel, but subsonic is not an option so once you accept you're hunting with supersonic ammo and only suppressing the muzzle blast the difference between a dedicated suppressor and a "one size fits all" is insignificant.

I use a Griffin Recce 7 (.30 cal can) on 300blk and 6.5 and .223 and it's excellent.

There's a guy on Snipers Hide selling a Recce 7 (maybe it's called a Recce 300 now?) for $650. That's better than Silencer Shop. Ranger71 or close to that. Anyways, that's a great deal

get a .308 suppressor.

Just get a 30cal can. Suppression will be fine for 6.8.

I would suggest titanium if you can afford it because humping a stainless steel suppressor up and down hills is a pain in the ass.

Check out that 7.62 Saker. Should work for most of the calibers being discussed. Great review w a video on Silencer Shop's website.

I use a Phantom LT .30 cal on my 6.8 SBR for hunting, and I can shoot that without ear pro out of the blind.

Go with a .30 cal suppressor. I shoot my Thunder Beast 30P-1 on .308, 6.5 Creedmoor and .223 and can't really tell any difference. Shooting without muffs is not a problem.
