The real low life is the jerk that trespasses on our land in Llano County near Lake LBJ. A guy brought in a shovel, sifter and other tools. Digs huge trenches and even uproots small juniper trees. When my grandfather could get around we would go back in the cedar breaks and take all his tools. Cops got him once but he was right back out doing it again as soon as he was released. Real piece of work....

I heard of two guys on Lake Texoma during a drought who were digging and sifting around an island. They had many artifacts. The Feds confiscated their boat, trailer, and pickup.

That was a few years ago, I remember reading about it. The guys were from the Ft. Worth area.
In Texas it is perfectly legal to dig on private property with the owner's permission. It happens all the time...

Unfortunately, the situation mpl described happens more often than it should. We've dealt with artifact poachers on more than one place we've hunted.

This evening I'll post some pics of points. But don't expect anything like Mojave's. He knocked it out of the park.

Here are a couple of displays of points and drills I have found. Most of them are in the category of "What might have been : ( " Such is life when surface hunting. I have a couple of hundred pieces of various point parts and drills. It sure is rewarding when you find a nice point that is intact.

We have found some pretty cool artifacts in the process of doing our cultural and biological resources reviews for pipeline projects in South Texas. Hand tools, many arrowheads, some pottery, etc.
