Can honestly say I'd never heard of Quoddy shoes until this thread. Pretty sure I'll never have any of those.

Granted, I was checking out dressier shoes at Fallas today.

LL Bean makes a real good boat shoe. Worn mine a lot but haven't noticed any odor.

I wasn't trying to be rude. I was just clarifying what type of shoes you were looking for. Most everybody I know refers to "boat shoes" as "frat daddy shoes". That's exactly what the 18-year olds wear with their plaid shorts, Easter-pastel long-sleeved button down, woven belt, and costas. Can't help you with the stinky feet/shoe issue. Closed shoes and no socks tends to make that happen because pretty much everybody's feet sweat to some extent (especially during the summer months). Props on not being in a frat though. And congrats on being old.
Never heard anyone I know refer to them as frat daddy shoes. Most people I know generalize the shoes by calling them sperrys.

200+ dollars for a pair of boat shoes is crazy.

It seems that you have a problem with every recommendation somebody has. Buy whatever you want, wear it how you want, and enjoy the funk.

Just keep your stanky feet in your shoes if you are around others

What if those boat shoes kept your feet from smelling like quail guts?

I must be weird, but I wear a pair of Vibram Bilkila LS shoes to run (obviously no socks). I must have put a few hundred miles on them, but they do not have any odor to them at all.

Some of you guys just need to shower from time-to-time.

I vote just keep the shoes you have and use a UV sanitizer/sterilizer.

I wear my Sperry's just about every day (keep boots at the office for the job site) and I stick them in those UV shoe trees about once every two weeks and it keeps them smelling like leather. The rib used to complain about the Sperry funk as well until I got the UV deal. It's spendy, but I've had it around 3 years now with no issues or bad bulbs.

Just gotta say, this has morphed into one of the odder threads we've had in a while.

Still have and occasionally wear a pair of '86 Bass Mocs. The key to ALL men's shoes, particularly leather ones, is cedar shoe trees.

Boat drinks. The boys in the band ordered boat drinks. Visitors scored on the home rink. Everything seems to be wrong.

So let me guess. You wear jeans and boots 99% of the time except funerals or weddings

What the hell is wrong with wearing boots to weddings and funerals?

Yes, they keep all of my boots, loafers and running shoes smelling like shoes and not like my feet.

This thread is entertaining.

To add a piece of useful advice, however -- to prevent shoes that you wear without socks from stinking, just buy some dryer sheets and put one inside each shoe after wearing them. It may not get the Jerry Seinfeld car stink out, but it will get most of it. Replace sheets as needed.

If this doesn't work, well then you have bigger foot odor problems and your options are 1) deal with it, 2) see a doctor for the foot odor, or 3) destroy your shoes with fire.

Can't stand shoes without socks most of the time.
