$250 per month for unlimited access.

Cheap in my book to spend quality time with your kids and family.... Lots of Dad's out there that would gladly pay $250 per month to get their kids off the couch and outdoors - or at least I hope there would be.

My goal with this pasture is to be able to provide a family access to the outdoors that may not have access, but would like unfettered access.

For someone who lives close, it is unlimited year-round hunting and fun for less than the cost of 1 cheap-seat season ticket at Kyle.

It is all in how you want to prioritize your leisure money.

Just some thoughts and my 2 cents.

Agree 100%.

If it weren't 6.5 hours away, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Hell, if somebody had something similar within 3-3.5 hours of NE Houston for similar pricing, maybe even a little more, I'd be on it like white on rice. Especially if it had some good river bottom that might flood and hold ducks.

Thanks Tarpon.

Ps: Used to trade 2 duck hunts for deer hunts in Burnet Co. and your Houston brethren and my friends at the time thought it was the best deal ever… They would shoot a basket 8 point and be happy as a lark and I would wade out in the rice fields around Katy and, like the infatuation with Lone Star beer, never understand the appeal of duck hunting when there are millions of perfectly good dove breast waiting for a jap, bacon and cream cheese!!!

I don't do dove poppers like that anymore. I do the below-linked recipe and it works for teal too. Plus, I maintain that people who don't like duck either don't know how to cook it or whoever cooks it for them doesn't know what they're doing. There are certain caveats but done correctly, duck is amazing. I just did a couple teal this weekend like this and even though I overcooked them a tiny bit the wife and kids destroyed them.
