Bump for Johnny.
BrazosDog- I took the OP to mean that these weren't ponds tucked away on private property but rather neighborhood ponds in a master-planned community. The kind where the ads always show happy families fishing or walking or biking around the ponds. Maybe feeding ducks or something.
The real question is who owns them and who put up the signs. If it's the HOA I'd tell them to stick it because my HOA dues paid for their damn signs and maintaining the ponds. If it's the MUD, I'd find out more but MUD Boards are elected bodies and you can bet I'd raise hell with those people.
I'm actually working with our HOA and the 3 MUDs in our neighborhood to better manage the community lakes. I'm friendly with a couple TxPWD biologists who live here and they're assisting.
Basically we're getting them to stop dying the ponds, plant native aquatic vegetation & stock filter-feeder baitfish to keep the water clear, add some structure, and stock more baitfish with a few top-end predators to knock down the population of undersized bluegill.
