This is my junior year in Aggieland and I finally brought my rod with me this semester... So I was wondering where the bass are. Any tips?

I live right down the street from the Bryan golf course and see people fishing that pond all the time. I was gonna try that soon.

You can catch bass all day long in the arsenic pond off turkey creek/Carson I believe. JUST DONT EAT THEM.

Do a search in this board. Lots of suggestions have been made over the years.

I've fished a bunch of small ponds in College Station. Pebble creek golf course has some ponds but you will probably be asked to leave. Look on good maps, there are a bunch of small neighborhood ponds to fish.

I'll probably fish the Bryan golf course this evening. Any tips?

Finfeather has plenty of small bass if you just want to enjoy catching fish. Don't take beer out there though, just a heads up.

Used to fish back behind GB Library. Minnows under a bobber. Not exactly the most exciting type of fishing, but never got skunked. Caught a several decent bass. Met George Bush Sr. out there a couple of times too.

Don't bother unless you want tiny bluegill and perch. We've tried a few tanks on the traditions golf course with no luck. As someone suggested, you'll catch stuff at George bush. No lunkers, but not a terrible place to take a date and have some fun. A friend tipped me off about somewhere in CS that I haven't tried yet, so I won't say where, but if you're gonna fish it, you better have a license if you get my drift

Interesting. I was told they have some nice bass in there. You tried the pond behind Sam's?

^Ive heard from multiple people that have fished it that it has some bass in it. But it's a private property and someone was there when a game warden showed up and they were told to leave. Hth

I'll keep that in mind. I might give it a try and see.

The big pond on the corner of the intersection for Bryan Municipal Golf Course used to have big bass in it. We always did C&R due to rumors of arsenic.

You need a fishing license even if you take a small kid to one of those ponds in a city park, right?

Did y'all fish off the pier or walk the bank?

Yeah, you'll probably catch some nice ones on the Pebble Creek golf course... Especially the 18th hole.... Then you'll also enjoy a nice ride in the back of a CSPD patrol car

There are a bunch of places to fish, but I'm not sure how many are legal.

I've fished these ponds with some luck but the bass are small (~1 lb). We've never been asked to leave, just leave it like you found it.

If you have a Kayak... Frierson Lake Number 3 has huge bass and crappie. I knew someone that lived there, so I'm not sure how well they take it if you don't.

We'd walk the bank. Would wave to Bryan PD officers as they drove by. They never asked us to leave.

Topwaters, plastic worms/lizards and spinnerbaits worked well. We'd often fish at night.

There is a pond behind Sam's Club/Movie theater on Hwy 6. I used to pull the occasional 3 pounder out of there, but most were on the small side. Watch out though, tons of cottonmouths.
