I just picked up an Aggie owned business -Brute outdoors cooler today. i was looking at a yeti and came across these. very impressive! anyone tested them compared to yeti for ice retention? www.bruteoutdoors.com texas based made in usa indestructible cooler definitely worth checking out!

When I was searching I looked at all the cooler manufacturers and compared. I chose brute over all of them. I love it. It's done a great job.

If someone has to have a roto molded cooler, but does not want to pay the Yeti/Pelican/Brute/Engel prices, go check out the Igloo Sportsman 55 at Sam's. A true 55 qt. with the footprint of the Igloo 72 I believe, which is what a lot of the aluminum cooler holders on boats are made for.

If I find it necessary to have a roto molded cooler, this is the one I'll probably get. For a slick $239 to boot. Aw hell, that's a lot for a cooler anyway.

To answer the OP's question, I've got one of each, and the Brute works every bit as good as Yeti. I also like the fact that they are Aggie owned. If I ever get another one, which is doubtful, it will be Brute, I won't even consider Yeti at this point. As far as the Igloo version goes, I just don't trust the brand. Their regular coolers are about as effective as a trash bag, IMO. I recommend the Coleman Extreme if you want to go the cheap route.

Bought a tan with camo lid Yukon cold locker by igloo at the Safari Club show and it is the shizzle. Also it is the only one I've ever seen with a camo pattern...

You can thank Google Alerts for that. I can get an email every day linking to posts where Brute Outdoors, Brute Cooler and Brute Coolers are used. We've spoken to the Texags staff about advertising but never pulled the trigger.

It seems there's a cooler thread on here about once every two weeks. You should jump in on those and add to the entertainment.

You guys do make a great product at a fair (relative to the $$ cooler market) price. I have an Ice Hole myself, being a partial to the Kerrville ownership, but I gave yours a hard look and liked it. One of the best latch designs I think. Hope you have great success with them.

Being that I'm not a paid advertiser, I typically watch from the sidelines but I do keep an eye on the buzz. Thanks for the compliment bud.

I picked up a 150 QT Brute a couple of days ago. I was on a hunting trip in Mason, TX, and it was the only heavy-duty brand cooler the local feed store carried. We'll see how it works out. My parents were given a Yeti by the company mom works for as a Crhistmas gift.
