We play 3-hole flat board

No need for pvc. Cut the holes out and wrap the boards in carpet.

Oh and if it isn't three hole, no carpet you are a nancy boy.

If you don't have carpet and are properly throwing your washers the board will be useless after one season. The carpet protects the boards.

Coat in a layer of epoxy, let that get torn up, sand down at end of tailgating season, reapply epoxy.

I see your point but it isn't really broken in until a few hundred thousand washers have been pitched, a case of beer has been spilled on it and your buddy passes out on it in a pool of his own vomit. Just then is it really starting to show some character.

We have some "retired" tops that if they could talk all of our respective families would leave us.
