Uhm...they look clean..real clean. In fact, it cleaned the die out of them. They are not dark brown, but now more of a light brown, which is fine, not a huge deal. Anyway, I need to put something on them to darken them back up. I cleaned them in the first place because i put mink oil on them and after a month, it created this crusty nasty white crap on them. I got rid of that. Id rather not use the 'cream' type mink oil again. I put bick 4 on them, which makes them feel right, and dark at first, but it doesnt darken after it soaks in and dries.

Anyone have any suggestions for something to condition them with? Its a thick bullhide type of leather. Need something that will darken them up and keep them that way. Ideas?

What about this stuff ?

Redwing makes a paint on boot oil if you are to lazy, I mean busy to work mink oil into the leather all the way.

Neatsfoot oil will darken them. On saddle leather it will take it to a dark chocolate color after several applications. Olive oil will give them a reddish hue. At least that's what happened with my experiences.

Redwing boot oil will darken them up a bit.

LOL...it was worked in. The stuff is old and had some nasty concretions in it. I was able to heat it up and get it all smooth again. After it was IN the leather it was fine, but a few weeks later, it worked its way back tot he surface as a crust in the grain. It was nasty.

No but really, I love the redwing stuff. They used to refill the jar for free. Not sure if they still do that though.
