Wasn't sure where to post this.

I usually wear hanes v-necks, or whatever they sell in value packs of 8 at walmart. that works fine in the winter, but during the summer they become very hot.

I don't know how people wear tank-tops, as that does nothing to prevent pit sweat- and looks bad under button down dress shirts.

is there anything decently priced that is cooler in the summer time?

JC Penny has a house brand that's a 50/50 cotton/poly blend. I wear those year around without any issue.

The asking for advice threads are becoming overused on this board, IMO.

*edit

I know it's the off season for all things we all enjoy and there's not much to discuss. Don't mean to come off like an ass.

I don't have a solution for button down dress shirts, I still wear Hanes with those. However, I wear a sleeveless dri-fit with a polo and it works great. I also don't have an issue with armpit sweat, but the bear pelt God gave me makes my back sweat quite a bit at times. The dri-fit does really well to help.

JD, the thing is, I don't know of anywhere else I can find a large group of people whose opinions I respect and trust on most things that interest me.

Most people on this board are intelligent, resourceful, frugal, independent.

I think most people are ok with it since they probably feel the same way.

Oh, and Hanes crew neck.

And they come in tall, which is nice.

It was pretty clear from the title that this thread was asking for advice. No one is forcing you to click on it. I haven't clicked the "where to buy a flag" thread because I don't care about it.

Sorry, but I'm with Markandles on this one...this is my preferred place to ask all things "men".

Hanes v-neck when wearing dress shirt. This time of year I wear more golf shirts...and to hijack this thread, am I the only one who mysteriously gets all kinds of snags on the Under Armour golf shirts? I swear I've bought 6-8 last year and every one of them has a snag or two.

None really, coming from DFW to Houston I haven't adjusted yet and undershirts make me too hot when I'm on site. So I wear alot of golf type dry fit shirts.

to AvgJoe, I have the same curse as you...in this heat, the best solution is buy some good clippers and bushwhack it. It's sound bad, but it beats the heat.

Cotton James wife beaters with everything but button downs, v neck or crew Hanes undershirts. Really only because lots of my button downs you could see the beater through it

Hanes crew. 100% cotton non iron dress shirt, but it still gets ironed.

I like the poly blend golf shirts like someone mentioned above but they seem to elevate BO quicker for some reason for me...

Black dry-fit undershirt, dark navy dry-fit polo, both under a navy blue Kevlar vest carrier.

Talk about "hot"

UA "tactical" v-necks are great for under any shirt with an open collar.

Under my FRC's I usually wear a dry fit of some sort. It is difficult to find a dry fit that isn't in some stupid color, so luckily color doesn't really matter for my undershirts. I'm not sure how well they would work in a typical office/cubicle setting. When I am in the office, I wear a dry fit golf polo with no undershirt. And, as a side note, I almost always wear some kind of dry fit underpants, unless I am hanging around the house.

They recommend not wearing synthetics under your FRCs. In the event of a flash fire, the synthetics can melt and fuse to your skin.

There is a manufacturer that makes underclothes that are FRC, but I can't remember who it is right now.

Carhartt makes a really lightweight/breathable FRC longsleeve t-shirt that's pretty clutch. I'm wearing mine right now.

I prefer a camisole. Something a little lacy and preferably with a built in bra for my moobs. Makes me feel pretty.

I have a couple of "athletic" type white shirts I've been wearing lately that are much lighter and cooler than cotton (I think these are polyester). I have one each from Walmart and Target...wanted to experiment before investing too much in the concept. So far they seem to be working pretty well.

I wear Jockey shirts due to their long tails. They don't make things any hotter than any other fabric.

I wear synthetic fabrics for everything I do that's active, but not as everyday wear. For me, they develop an odor after a few hours of wearing that natural fabrics don't. For you, things may be different. Obviously, when I'm active, I don't really care about that.

I don't go cheap on women, bourbon, or undershirts. That philosophy has served me well. Try one just for fun, might change your life.

Hanes comfortfit crews.

I HATE vnecks with a passion. I always have. I'd rather show undershirt than have that annoying V collar.
