I enjoy it as well. Also check out the Shiner *****ly Pear if you can find it. I would buy a pallet of that stuff if they sold it in cases.

I'm trying all the shiner beers I can buy here locally and their in only one that I was not a fan of. The shiner hefeweizen I did not like, but of course its my brothers favorite shiner beer. We are night and day as usual. I'm drinking the 101 now and its really good as well. I will try and find the pear beer!
Best enjoyed after a day spent in the sun. Super refreshing to sit on the back deck, drinking a ruby redbird while admiring a freshly manicured lawn.
Try the hefe after pouring it into a glass. Hefes are not intended to be consumed from the bottle. IMHO it changes the flavor quite a bit.
I have tried 7 or so of the shiners and except the hef i pretty much enjoy them all. Will try the glass trick!

The hefe is one of my favs, but I am a big hefe fan regardless of brand.
Ruby Red ice cold is great on a hot summer day by the pool. But there was one Shiner that I actually poured out. Forgot the name but it was some kind of mesquite smoke crap. Worst beer Ive ever tasted...

I bought a sixer. It's pretty good. Probably won't but again, but glad I tried it.
Will usually have one or two by the pool before switching to mescan beer. More than that and the ginger starts making its presence known.

Nope, and I've looked everywhere/tried to special order from Specs downtown/you name it. I asked about it when I toured the brewery and they told me the brewing/production costs of selling a six pack would translate into a ~$12 sixxer, which they didn't want to have that cost stigma associated with Shiner beers.
I let her know I would absolutely pay that, and she laughed and said she would too as it was her favorite Shiner variety.

When I took the boy to football camp, I fell head first into a keg of Ruby Red at the Chicken. It worked very nicely with a little sliced cheese, jalapeno sausage and crackers.

grandparents have a ranch near the brewery. there is nothing like drinking free beer on tap at the brewery as well as stopping at Howards to pick up a 20 oz. shiner on draft for the road.

Not a knock on the beer, but the brewery tour was a real let down for me. Places like Real Ale where you get a small glass and refill all you want during tour > 3 tokens for 3 small tasters. Just my opinion.
