Got my ring in undergrad. Put a diamond in it after I also finished my PhD at A&M. Good enough reason as any.

What purpose does the diamond add? Do you just want bling?

I've got a friend the put his mom's wedding ring diamond in there and in that case I can understand it has purpose but if it is just some random diamond???

Explain how a diamond in there is better than having the shield and stars?

Sorry diamonds are for women. Next topic you guys are going to start talking about your feelings and how it is ok to cry.

I went to work for an Aggie, Class of '25, about 5 years after I received my ring. You could not tell his ring was an Aggie ring it was so badly worn.

Maybe if you read the post instead of just trolling. I wanted to see my ring's features well past my first few years out. I never forgot that lump of gold on his finger. It was about 50 years old when I saw it. Mine is now nearly 50 years old and the diamond has been in it nearly 40 years. Do I need to type slower?

Someone has ring envy. Who cares man? Do what you want with yours and let others do what they want with theirs.

My diamond was a gift from my grandfather (c/o 61') as I was the first in the family to graduate from A&M since him. He bleeds maroon like most and adds the diamonds to the rings of everyone in the family that graduates from A&M. You can go where ever you want, but if you go to A&M the diamond is on him.

So while your attitude indicates you wouldn't understand this either, it is more a sentiment of pride and accomplishment knowing the person in my family that I look up to the most is proud as hell I graduated from A&M.

Why is there always some dick on every thread that has to come in and either question "why", or feel the need to make dumbass statements along the lines of "your way is wrong because it is different from my way"?

Do these peole have peen envy on everything?

IMO, the warranty is mainly good for folks who have the two part rings. It's not uncommon for the top of the ring to separate from the base.

My class has two part rings and I have never once even heard of this happening.

I don't understand why a guy would want to drill a hole an put a diamond in his ring?

Probaly the same kind of guy that has a really fancy wedding band with diamonds in it.

Might as well just borrow your wife/girlfriends purse next time you go out?

Internet tough guy.

Which class years have one part vs two part rings? I've never heard of the tops separating.

I must be hard on rings, because my '99 ring has almost as much wear as that '67 ring does. And mine is the harder 10k (because I was poor as **** and paid for the ring myself also).

I thought several times about doing this.

But I am so glad I didn't. It is just too blingy for me. I think it nearly ruins the ring.

The molds changed in 1998.

30 point diamond looks the best in my opinion.

No way. It blocks out the entire shield

That's also the year they started offering natural finish I believe

Class of '96, non-antiqued (natural finish?) two part ring.

Also, always believed that the diamond was for earning your first million.

rook who creates his account today and bumps aggie ring threads on several different boards? whats going on here?

And the only correct ring finish is antique.

I've always wondered how much they'd charge to give mine the antique finish. I got the bling look but always wanted the old fashioned finish.

I went for the bling look in college as well. I had it resized a few years ago and had them antique it at the same time. I don't remember exactly how much but it was pretty cheap. I wanna say $30.

I am honored to do it. My website is now www.fifthcjewelry.com

the old aggiejeweler url was retired

I would have popped on here sooner, but I was busy cutting down an oak tree, sectioning it, splitting it, stacking it, then surprised to see a nice deer, shot it, cleaned it, cubed it, except back straps, then washed up, came to my office, sold jewelry, then got on here. A pretty typical day for women like myself and all with my Aggie Ring on and most of it with Class of 58 along side of me... (He has my mom's; his wife's diamond in his Aggie Ring, that I put there just after her untimely death in 2012)

I was a pretty big jerk in college and left the good morals I was raised with. I credit the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for even graduating and for getting my life on track. The Holy Trinity is important to me, and diamonds are forever, so here is my ring (back before it got beat to heck...)

God's Peace,
Chuck

+1 for Chuck! He put my great grandmothers engagement diamond in mine. Great job !!!

It was probably antiqued when you got it then wore off. I remember the association introducing the natural finish in 98. May have been 99. Definitely late '90s.

Ya, looks like 98 was the year. I remembered all my friends opting for it then.

The shield is badass. Never understood the allure of messing it up with a sparkly rock.

It was for sure an option in '96. Never been antiqued, of this I am certain.
