I'm 42 and have been hunting since I was 4. I have shot zero bobcats. I always think I want one mounted but just keep watching them. Yotes I shoot on occasion. Feral cats are shot on site. Feral dogs same fate.

Not sure, they are pretty spoiled GSD's. They get on the property and act like they have never been outside before.

Here is the results of a run-in with a housecat for one as a pup:

They are lovers not fighters:

Beautiful dogs. We had just a white GSD and were talking about getting another dog and I really wanted to get an all black GSD so they would look just like your pair, but my wife wanted something more "friendlier" looking so we got the yellow lab instead.

HECUBUS, they've been known to take down bigger deer than that. That is more of the exception, not the rule.

Parts of the Hill Country, I wouldn't put the idea of mountain lion out of the question. With the deer density is some areas, it could be a hot bed.

Awesome dogs drummer. I need to update with bluebonnets, this one is from up in Utah before we moved back from Vegas.

Thanks all for the advice!

Obviously, I do not have the same outlook as some of you. I have lived and worked in the country all of my life

If that's the qualification for expert, I'm the same and I have three years on you to boot.

Well, I am a long way from being an expert at anything. That is the truth.

We once had a rather large Maine Coon cat (21 lbs) that was attacked by a GS in Gleannloch Farms. The fact that the cat didn't give one inch as the GS ran at her clearly had the dog a bit worried because it was slowing a pretty good bit before it arrived at the cat.................who sunk her claws so deeply into the GS's nose...........the GS ran away howling. But yes............that was a soft city dog.

I have nearly the EXACT same story: replace female cat with male (26 lb) named Put-Put and Glennloch with Lake Tahoe... Meanest house cat ever. Sort of came with the house. The owner of the GS threatened to sue.

I agree that a dog isn't going to be that motivated to take on a bobcat because it would get the crap scrached out of it, but if it was a fight to the death, those big dog cainines and 350ft/lb bite force trumps all those claws.

Good answers....they kill undesirable critters, like Chihuahuas and Poodles and Yorkies
