Look at one of the drop in kid care places. Not a day care, but an hourly care place. We use one in Plano when no in house babysitters are available and the kids love it. The employees m(minus owner/manager) looked like HS age.

Could probably make her own hours too.

Has she considered selling things on ebay? You can make pretty decent money by hitting thrift stores and garage sales after you develop an eye for what people will pay for. It's astonishing what people will pay for items you find at a thrift store.

The good thing is that ebay doesn't take up a lot of time.

Check into the big rec centers (PSA, Fieldhouse - that sort of thing). I have heard that Fieldhouse in Frisco hires score keepers at 14 and there has to be a similar facility in your neck of the woods.

FAF, yep, we have the MAC.

She is on the list to call when they have an opening for the concessions.

I'll have to look into the scoring.

I was a lifeguard at 15...ended up doing it every summer through high school and also after my freshmen year. It was easy to work your way up in that setting. Asst manager to mngr to area mngr.

The responsibilities were nothing special, but it gave me experience in leading in-service trainings and making staff schedules etc

For lifeguarding jobs, check out Hurricane Harbor. I worked there for 6 years -- summers in high school and the first couple summers in college when I would come back home for a few months. Absolutely loved it. 15 years olds worked there, they just had special labor law (?) restrictions. Couldn't exceed a certain number of hours a week, couldn't work past a certain time in the evening, and couldn't work any ride that had a conveyor belt. I just double checked their website and they still hire lifeguards at 15.

Is she in to horses? Lots of stables hire working students. NTHJA website has a list of north Texas barns.

Me and friends in addition to cutting grass would load the wagon up with car washing stuff. It was amazing how many people wanted their vehicles washed without leaving the house. My Grandpa spotted me $40 to buy supplies like, soap, a few camel hair towels (great for drying) and tire wet. People gladly gave us $10 and $20 tips.

I worked at Chick Fil A in Founder's Square (2499 and 3040) for almost two years back in high school and still know most of the management there (and the owner). If I remember correctly, under 16 they just have to limit hours. I would check with them, the owners name is Jason Driscoll GM is Romel Martinez. I would personally suggest she at least go in and talk to them.

Good people up there, and a great place to work. Once I left for college, they also let me come back on breaks if I wanted.

Flomo, that's where she planned to work. She could walk/ride her bike there if she wanted.

Her Sunday School teacher has worked there a long time, and still does, I think.

Unfortunately, they now require employees to be 16. I think it changed last summer.
