anyone have a S&W Book?

You should be able to get S&W to send you a factory letter on the gun, correct?

It was handed down from my mother n law, it was my father n laws gun Ag CO'51 who recently passed away. The only notes (log entry) he had on it was "S&W 38 Special Revolver" no date of purchase or anything.

Guess I'm not as concerned with M/D as I am about Year, to determine ammo 38 special, 38 Special +P. I'd like the get +P rounds but need the year to see if this 38 can handle +P. He could have bought this gun all the way back to the 60s.
