I do have my annual trip to the squirrel woods coming up soon. Thanks for helping fuel the excitement, rook.

I got nothing against squirrels, but I am on Red Alert for jackrabbits in my neighborhood. We built a house last spring, with new sod. No problems for almost a year. But a week ago the jackrabbits decided my front yard was like an all you can eat buffet. A week ago my lawn looked like a tee box at the country club, now it looks like a rodeo arena.

I "took care" of about 25 of them that had been born in our attic when we had a holes opened up by them multiple in years past (thus there being multiple litters in my yard that were determined that our attic belonged to them), and therefore thought our house as home base and were determined to have their offspring inside our house as well. I removed all from attic and patched the holes but they chewed new ones, rinse and repeat three times, and that's when I went jihad on them with a hunting pellet rifle, traps, etc.. within the city limits. I knew I may be slightly bending the rules, so when I dispatched them I made sure to dispose of them offsite. I finally got the holes completely patched and then had to trap all of them trapped in the attic as I didn't do a one way exit (and if I had those same ones would have started chewing back in), but I had one hold out that wouldn't go in the trap, even with water in it, so I had to open my attic access and then freaking hunting him in my own home. His lack of water forced him to come down into the house and I had set up a blind using my sons tumbling blocks and laid out tarps around the attic access and then waited. Sure enough the little ******* came down the steps and I iced him right on the bottom attic access step. My wife thought I was certifiably nuts, but I had had enough of those mfers chewing holes in my house that after I dispatched the hold out, I went on a 6 month eradication of every one that entered my yard to make sure I got everyone that had been born in the house and that none remained that thought of my house as home. F em.

I've got nothing against squirrels too.
Just can't say the same thing for my dog.

I lived in a housing area in Colorado that was infested with rabbits.

This led to having coyotes continuously cruising the fencelines. Lot's of "Missing Cat" posters around.

My pointer puppy would jump the chain link fence and chase the rabbits til she was frothing, which ruined her for anything else.

One of the little jerks chewed up the O2 sensors on my Audi to the tune of $400.

A neighbor with a garden was offering a $1 bounty per bunny, and my son and a neighbor were stacking the bills until another wife in the neighborhood saw them running around with my pellet gun and threatened to call the MPs.

Obligatory.

I think that falls under this:

Live trapping and relocating live animals is greatly restricted and can earn you a hefty fine! In other words, you can kill nuisance animals as necessary but you cannot trap them live and relocate them.

My cat is a serial killer when it comes to squirrels. Not only does she go for them, but drags their bodies to the same spot on the side of my garage every time.
