Will never set foot in the dump again. Not only is the owner incredibly rude, he's refusing to sell rifle primers more than 500 at a time, for more than case price. Actually expected me to thank him for selling me as many as 500!

Leger is so full of it it's comical. It's probably been 10 years since I've been in there. Sounds like he hasn't changed. His classified ads on southeasttexas.com crack me up.

LGS' for the most part have been complete dix since November. Cypress Armory has been one of the very few who haven't prices gouged and been fantastic

I don't know anything about this particular gunshop, but i have noticed over the past month or so that FFL's in general are a rude and finicky lot. I realize they have a license and responsibility, but many I've dealt with lately are extremely demanding and kind of move at their own pace.

I couldn't believe when he looked at me and said "I'm not gonna let you come in here and buy my inventory up, other people need to reload to. You should be thankful ill let go of 500the at a time".


In the first place do you run a business? Or do you just not care about money?

In the second I've gone through several hundred primers in a few weeks( so much for saving....I've just started spending the whole say instead of a couple of hours at the range, just not his overpriced turd bucket), why the hell should my reloading be restricted because he feels like I've shot enough?

I won't go in j&j pawn for the same reason. I'm all for business, and no the customer is not always right, but don't be an ******* just to do it

Yep I used to go to Leger's for the last several years, but not anymore. You are correct when you say he is an arrogant *****. That pretty much sums them up. Their prices are high as hell too

I don't live in Beaumont, but used to live near there. Used to be a place called Shooter's Supply. Neat, cool little shop with great employees and a great used gun rack. Sadly, Academy moving in, literally next door, did them in.
I don't know where people go now.

Be happy you got 500. Place I stopped at yesterday was only allowing 200 a day.

Gander is cheaper on powder than anyone else locally. I shoot at south east Texas sportsman in vidor( very nice range), ans mostly do business with Gary's guns I'm vidor or the shop in lumberton. Ken Lloyd is my Smith(Beaumont at Schmidt saw and knife), and my Ffl transfer go to

Pfg, I guess they dont like making money. I didn't buy them, I'd rather use the tula powder valley has, at least they'll let you buy what you need and not give you attitude about it

Schmidt has an excellent gsmith, but it's not really a "gun store".
I've dealt with Leger's and J+J's and you're right. I had a Gunbroker seller complain about the attitude of the guy at J+J's on a transfer. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to get a gun shipped there. I must have made 10 or more calls each to seller and J+J's to get a gun sent.
Unfortunately in my experience, in our area the attitude of most of the gun dealers is fairly similar. A lack of competition breeds this.

Well it split. Mark took the name and went a quarter mile down 12. That store was called Gary's, the other was McQueery's( I think that's how it was spelled). Mark is still open over in 12 under the Gary's name

I do not know. I assume they do that. What I do know is the guy is a trusted smith.

Cadet I didn't ask Ken when I talked to him. U had to have an Ffl right then, and I didn't care! I'm sure its not much( I dunno how many he does tbh), he is a really great guy to work with though. Call and ask to speak with ken Lloyd in the am I'm sure he'd tell you.
