I sold some PMAGS on gunbroker and took them up to The UPS Store to ship yesterday. The clerk asked what was in the box and I said "mags". He asked if they were mags for a gun and I told him "yes, they are plastic magazines."

He told me he had to call the owner to ask if it was legal to ship them to AZ. I told him it was definitely legal and that they were just pieces of plastic.

He called the owner and then came back and told me they weren't allowed to ship any gun parts.

I told him what an idiot his owner was and then proceeded to drive 2 miles down the road to the next UPS Store. When that clerk asked for a description of what I was shipping, I said "a car part." No problems with that description.

That's a private package. Take it to another store and if they ask what's in it tell them them its not any of their GD business. You aren't paying for them to write a ****ing book....ship it and stfu.

I received a 20 gauge shotgun through UPS. All my grandpa had to do to send it was take it apart to call it "gun parts." Unless policy changed after sandy hook, you got the shaft by some liberal hippie

I recently have shipped a rifle, 9mm ammo, and .22 ammo via UPS with no problem.

It's not UPS, it's a dumbass clerk & store owner. Those UPS stores are franchises and each are different.

I ship uppers via FedEx, and if they ask, which they've only done once, I say machine parts.

I've been told that the little locations can't ship anything gun related but that it can ship from the UPS hub.

Usually have to use a real ups , not a shipping store or ups branch. They will also pick it up and ship, if you need to do it that way

You may ship ammo via USPS but you MUST CLEARLY MARK the box on ALL SIDES with: ORM-D

You just have to label the shipping receipt as "machine parts," and the UPS store I went to didn't ask anyone questions.

I asked UPS this exact question yesterday because I'm trying to ship an AR. I was told by multiple stores that I have to take the gun to a UPS process center (not a general UPS store) and that they will ONLY ship the gun back to the manufacturer or to a licensed dealer. I explained that it's perfectly legal to ship a non-concealable weapon to a private owner so long as it doesn't cross state lines. They looked at me crosseyed, like I was speaking spanish. USPS said they would ship it, no problem.

I have shipped a lot to Wilson and Ed Brown. I know the owner and workers in my local UPS store quite well. If I am shipping a long rifle they can box it and ship it from the store....but it has to go to a licensed dealer.

If it's a handgun I have to take it to DFW and packaged there and it must be over nighted.

All UPS Stores are privately owned. Some will ship guns or gun parts while others won't. General "corporate" policy is all gun stuff has to ship through a hub/distribution center.

Fedex will allow you to ship any gun parts you want from Kinkos since they're all corporate owned.

My company uses the UPS store at Lebanon and Preston for our mailbox service. I've never shipped mags or gun parts, but I would almost certainly guarantee that they wouldn't have an issue with it if you told them what you were shipping.

UPS Stores for the most part won't ship guns or gun parts. Your local UPS facility will be more than happy to accommodate you, however.

Just had UPS drop of 5000 LP primers on my desk. Can't say much bad about them right now.

Tomorrow may be a different story, but right now I'm giddy.

I shipped a complete lower to a FFL via the UPS desk at Office Depot. They asked what I was shipping and I said "rifle parts".

No problem.

I always use the Tyler UPS main hub. There's a country girl who works the front desk and she could care less. She won't blink an eye if you tell her gun anything.

How about instead of "gun parts" you just say "Sporting Goods"?

I tried to ship an AK parts kit at a UPS store today and the counter guy was a Limey ***** from the start. He was skeptical of the "machine parts" description and interrogated me about what kind of machine before refusing to take it because my drivers license address isn't current and did'nt match the return address. **** em, I'll go to FedEx

I just shipped a complete lower, printed label off at home saying signature required, put on box and dropped off at Office Depot.

The problem with putting something other than what is actually in the box comes when you have to file a claim. Sure it doesn't happen often but it does happen.

Yes, just by accident I found this thread Diet Cokehead. I received a call yesterday from one of my newer employees asking if we can ship magazines. I told him no, we are not allowed to ship any gun parts, period, and that he must take it to the UPS hub at 7129 Eckhert Road. As a UPS Store owner, I hate turning away business and would much prefer to ship anything that comes into our store. However, after you told us that it was magazines, I could lose my franchise for shipping it. Plenty of people ship "machined parts".

Being a gun owner for over 50 years, you think I don't know what is in a box labeled Taurus or Remington?

If you are going to lie about it you will likely get away with it, and at the same time I can ship it and make a little money. But if I lie about it, I could lose my business.

It is one of those things that I hate about The UPS Stores rules, along without being able to ship wine (state of Texas rules).
