I have just purchased two Ruger No. 1 rifles. (22-250 & 257 Roberts) I would like to get the actions and scope rings Color Case Hardened and wanted to know if anyone here has had that done to a rifle and if there were any recommendations on a company that would do that kind of custom gun work.

Send it to a gunsmith that does that kind of work. If you send it to anyone who does not have a FFL they can't legally work on it. I suggest a gunsmith because the action will have to be stripped and the barrel will have to be removed. Also, the gunsmith should know if the temper will be affected in the process. Good luck.
